That's something that bugs me about the FA version as well, the one gun hand has the trigger finger extended all the way out. It's really not logical since you always keep your finger on the trigger. So I guess I'm not too worried at this point that Cap doesn't have the right hands for a gun, just as long as I can have him hold on and make it look decent. I agree, leaving this gun out, but giving him the second head sculpt they did doesn't make make sense to me. It just seemed like a given. However, I like what they did with him overall so what do I really have to complain about?

While I agree a trigger hand should always be provided... You actually never keep your finger on the trigger unless you're ready to shoot. You want your trigger finger fully extended down the side of the gun for safety.

The sculpt looks great. What bugs me is the square cut at the back of the neck. Much like the superman 2 in 1, it sucks looking at it from the side. Wish they would have cut it so it looks more seamless or make it 1 piece with a sculpted neck.

Sorry, I was just thinking of it from the perspective of Captain America who is on the battlefield and needs to be ready to shoot at all times. You're exactly right though, and I should have been more clear with my post. The hand they included is nice, and I'll use it for when he's displayed relaxed (if the gun is not in the holster), but overall I would have preferred a trigger finger hand for action poses. Then again we don't have any Hydra soldiers so why worry, lol. :)

I agree, I do NOT see Evans in the least bit other than the hair in this. Not sure what the F people are seeing here thinking its close. I think a side by side picture comparison would make anyone realize the mouth and eyes are way off.

Then by all means post one. Personally I think the unmasked HS is excellent, a great likeness and showing some personality. If you can find a side-by-side that proves me wrong I'd be glad to see it.

I'd hate for HT to be put off making head sculpts with different expressions because people complain when they don't like the expression chosen. Almost as bad as an unrecognisable HS is an accurate HS that just looks bored.

I think the unmasked head sculpt is great, but for our first unmasked head I would have preferred something neutral. That said, I really do want this version because of the unique expression. I like having more options display wise. Given that the Rescue version has a neutral expression I think it's good they went with something different on this figure. Maybe Hot Toys planned on having the Rescue version out first, I don't know, but I think it's a good looking sculpt and good choice of expression. I would have preferred the neutral unmasked head sculpt with this figure and the clenched teeth with the Rescue version, but that's only because I want it now not later, lol.

They should have went with a natural look for unmasked sculpt imo

This was one of the very first images of Avengers Cap i saw
and since then i wanted to imitate it with a HT fig

too bad we're not getting that badass poker face he wore in most of the film :monkey2

Yeah, gotta agree. I like the angry sculpt, but to me that's much more indicative of Cap in the film.

I would have liked this sculpt as well, the sculpt we are getting doesn't do it for me.

I'm in the crowd that's not really impressed with the Chris Evans sculpt but just like I've been since the original Mk I came out with the Tony Starks head, I'm buying this figure for Captain America and NOT Steve Rogers, and in that case, this figure was knocked out the park:rock

Very true, and Im buying more for the character than the actor but I kind of get tired of people complaining about only one when the others are not much better at all, i.e. Cap, Hawkeye close up pics of the actors don't resemble the sculpts. The Loki, in my opinion is the only Avenger figure that is very accurate. The rest, not so much...

yeah, that's true. But I guess after all my years here, I know this is the typical "low point" in excitement when every small detail is broken down and you just have to ride it out until in-hand pics start coming out and all the naysayers end up putting up pics of their own after buying it anyway:lol

Exactly. I think it's a great head sculpt, especially for a soldier and character like Cap. I think this is the wrong version of the character to include it with, but it's still excellent. The head sculpt that others mentioned recently, the slightly displeased poker face would have been brilliant. Thankfully we have more movies to look forward to so hopefully we'll get more varied expressions for Steve from Hot Toys in the future.
