Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Upon the one pic: I dunno... not feeling it. He seems... inflated, arms out, fingers out, not a natural pose. More like a Macy's parade balloon float.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I think what we are seeing so far looks great. Really stoked for the full reveal and pics from Ani Com.

My biggest question is, whats the deal with the arms and/or hands? In the new pic, he has open hands.

In the older backstage pic, he has clinched fists.

Are the fingers and hands articulate? Are there more than one set of arms? If there is articulation in the hands, fingers or elbows, does that mean the arms are covered in rubber? :dunno:dunno

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I don't see why anyone would want rubber arms on this figure for, has anyone seen what the elbows look like when the arm is bent on a rubber arm? I have and it doesn't look natural, and that not even counting the idea of how long the rubber will hold up. With a figure like the Hulk it'll just be that much more noticeable and worse if it starts to split. Not mention the lack of pose ability.

swap out hands like every other figure? :dunno

Obvioulsy, we have to wait til the pics from this weekend or the full reveal, but based on the 2 pics, its hard to tell if its a simple as sets of hands because there are no visible joints at the wrists.

And I don't own a rubber figure, but just based on what I've heard and read, I really hope there is NO rubber on Hulk.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

The elbows would not bend at all if made of rubber as it would be way too thick.

Everyone opposed to a rubber Hulk body is making a lot of assumptions about what issues such a figure could have. I think it's shortsighted to assume that any rubber figure released in 2013 would suffer the same conditions as a figure released in 2007; surely Hot Toys has improved their materials? I mean I had no issues with their MMS Dark Knight (new suit) figure, their Dutch figure, or their Keaton figure, all which use rubber.

I think it's also wrong to assume the appearance of the elbows and range of articulation couldn't be improved upon over past releases, especially considering the much larger scale Hulk allows them to work at than, say, their Dutch figure. People talk like rubber is a complete articulation killer, but filmmakers have been using animatronic puppets (metal skeleton wrapped in rubber) to great effect for decades.

Given the size of a 1:6 scale Hulk, I think it would have been completely possible to build an articulated inner skeleton, right down to posable fingers, wrapped in a rubber "skin" with great results.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Notice in this new pic, the arms are positioned so you can't really see his wrists...

I am betting when we see this at Ani-Com it will have the elbow joint, but I would not mind having an extra pair of solid sculpted arms

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

True Spanbauer, but even a thin rubber skin will wrinkle and probably resist movement.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

If nothing else changes then it looks good enough, but price will ultimately be the deciding factor.

Come on, you know what I what I'm talking about.

In my collection Dutch, Sarah Conner, Marcus Wright, 3 Batmans (suits), T-100 as Sarah, and Abigail Whistler have them. I keep their arms straight 99% of the time for fear of cracking and it's no fun. I pose my jointed figures all the time, and I'd like to be able to do that with the Hulk.

That's my main concern with using the rubber substance. It will crack in time.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

It's hard to see the wrists because of the angle and the fact that he has large hands, but it does appear to be jointed at the wrist.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I thought the legs would have joints at least is this thing one big block of rubber

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Confusing pics. They don't look like figures. What is the meaning of those pics?? Just a photoshop collage.
