I claim credit for this tangent everyone has happily gone off on :D And pleased that many seem to agree with my view.

Kelsey Beast FTW

Comparred to the piss poor X-men suit designs? I think not. ;)

This is true. :)

My only prior knowledge of Beast though is the animated series from the 90s.

Strangely enough, I think a lot of people's benchmarks come from that series because they really nailed everyone. The voice acting could not be any better. I even read the comics with those voices in my head :lol

As for the beast thing, one is young , one is quite old. I can dig both versions. Although I'd go with Grammer if I could only choose one.

I think Kelsey Grammer was as great a choice for Beast as Hugh Jackman was for Wolverine. My only complaint is I wish Jackman was alot shorter just to fit in more closely with the comics. But I understand that everything can't be translated and some stuff just will not and does not translate well to the screen, and every little detail doesn't have to be exact as far as I'm concerned. Just like I didn't mind that Raimi's Spidey had organic web-shooters. I wasn't a big fan of the new cat-like Beast in the comics but I thought the First Class design was incredible and I feel that as a figure it would really look awesome on the shelf, especially with some intense articulation that I think most of the costume could cover up. I had the Medicom comic Wolvie figure years ago and even though it was well done at the time, I would luv to see how a HT comic version would turn out.

Agreed. Hot toys should jump on the marvel comic style bandwagon like sideshow has with it's DC characters. That would be amazing.

How do you guys think they will tackle the fur on beast? Real fur or molded rubber like the hasbro chewbacca?

I thought it was me who brought it up in this thread. Oh well.

On a slightly different topic whats with HT starting off with the worst film in the 'old' X-men trilogy and the Raimi Spiderman trilogy. I wouldn't mind if it was a case of saving the best for last but with HT one doesn't know for a fact that they'll bother (or get time) to go back to the superior early films.

Could be a case of cheaper rights.

I am pretty sure they bought the rights to the Franchise and not per movie. I would suspect that they went with Box Office numbers to base where they would put there efforts for the older X-Men line. Though X3 was by far the worst of the Trilogy, it was also the highest grossing movie of the three.

That is my guess at any rate!

I don't expect anymore figures from the franchise. HT is too backlogged with 2012 items and 2013 is around the corner.

Anyway, I cannot wait for Wolverine!

That would suck, it's a damn shame that they milk the **** out of Iron Man but brush past X-Men, a team and comic that has been consistently in Comics, TV and Film more than Iron Man or Avengers.

Well doesn't matter because HT wont make either of them anyway. One and done for your licenses Nova.

Technically two so far & third to come... :wink1:

While I agree, the more figures from X Men the better, I just don't see it happening. 66 Batman, Batman Returns, Back to the Yawn (Future), Superman, IM3.....the list goes on for 2013 titles and they cannot keep pace with 2012.

Yep, all the Batman and Iron Man versions take the place of a lot of cool figures being made
