More pictures.. This has become my most enjoyable display by far. And to think, just a few months ago I wanted to sell my classic predator. Just seemed boring in there by himself. Adding Scar and some scenery has completely transformed this display!

Got this ugly sucker in the mail today..

I wasn't sure where I wanted to put him. Originally I was going to have Scar holding the chestburster like other members have posted pictures of. But I like my pose and didn't want to change it so I added it into the scene.

I think I'm finally done with this display and I can move on to Tony Starks but I reserve the right to post more pictures! lol

Soooo my wife said I could get this or a crossbow for Christmas.

I think I want the crossbow

You can start a William Tell routine whenever you argue...
What could go wrong? :rotfl

Looks like my Scar might be with me tomorrow, made a space for him on my Predator shelf:

Scar will go where the Moneky Shoulder box is, and Nolan will get to steppin' when Hot Toys get their finger out and make Wolf 2.0...

I like your style Luse. That is my current Predator line up minus bloated Noland. :lol

And I waiting on Scar as well and I will add the P2 Elder and Wold 2.0 to my collection also when HT release them. And the original Jungle Hunter.

Only the best of the best for my collection.

Thanks. Noland I got from One Sixth Bruce for £89 when he marked 'em down to get rid of them, not the most iconic character but he is a fantastic figure for the price, and makes a great place holder. Classic's a place holder for a Jungle Hunter, and I'll use Classic as cannon fodder for Berserker if a proper P1 Pred hits.

The wait for Elder, Wolf and Jungle Hunter will suck though, as they might very well follow Celtic with Chopper (great for the hardcore gotta catch 'em all crowd though) and Celtic's still not up for pre-order yet..

Anyway Scar showed up bright and early today, I'll take better pics one day when the sun shows up again, but for now:

He's badass and heavy, his head is on tight, his mandibles are so tight I didn't have time to get them out and switch 'em, might even have to use a blow dryer to get 'em lose, same with his gauntlet blades, they were in so tight and they are so sharp that they poked holes in the shirt I used to pull them out. Also once you place all his gear on it all feels firmly attached, unlike say City Hunter that likes to drop his stuff at the drop of a dime.

I just need to wait until tonight, pour myself a nice glass of Scotch and give 'em a good staring at.

Yeah I think some people were picking up Noland at that price but he still didn't convince me but as you say for that price he is still a bargain.

Yeah Classic will sort of become redundant once a P1 figure is released and like you I will pose him with Berserker.

I agree there will be a long wait for Wolf and P2 Elder. :impatient:

PS - I just noticed a couple of spelling mistakes from my previous post and it just goes to show that you should always have a light on when typing during the day here in Scotland. :lol

Finally got around to opening my Scar and in all honesty... I'm not as happy as I thought I'd be. One of his small sideburn dreads came unglued, the tip of one of his toeblades chipped off (don't get why they didn't just use regular soft plastic for those, seeing as they're painted to look non-metallic anyway), and his buttflap came unglued on one side. Not a good start. I won't be able to exchange him due to my being out-of-state when the 30-day return window closed and will have to shell out the money to replace parts. Even without these problems, there are a few letdowns. For one thing, the figure just feels clunky and fractured. It may be the 2.0 version, but Hot Toys still hasn't figured out how to properly (and durably) build the AVP armor.

Visually, the figure is stunning but I'm more than a little miffed that we didn't get a real metal shuriken and spear. Also -- and this is one of the biggest issues with the piece -- rubber helmet wires. It's hard to believe HT started out using real metal (or aluminum, whatever it was) and switched to rubber. Maybe rust was a concern, but none of the old AVP figures I've seen suffered from any noticeable issues. What's more, the wires are too short. Unless you're tilting the head all the way to the side facing the wire plugs, those things will either be stretched awkwardly or they won't even be long enough to be plugged in.

I love the way this guy looks, but the lack of QC and poor (really poor) material choices make him feel like a total afterthought. It's obvious HT was focusing their energy on Iron Man and Joker and shat this guy out on the side.

EDIT: Might as well add that the paint on the dreadlock rings leaves a lot to be desired. A little too sloppy for the $200+ we're paying. Seriously, what happened?

Yikes!!! You're really starting to worry me, I mean.... It's obvious that the shrunken is plastic as is the spear but it would be a bit of a hard job getting all that detail in a metal spear which is meant to be a key visual point but yes the shuriken should have been metal, I mean that is the most delicate piece in the package!

The dread paint work is always going to be sloppy on those rubber dreads.

No quarrel with the body but has anyone noticed that the upper torso body seems a bit short? The legs are bulky as berserkers but the upper body could have been a bit longer in length though. :dunno

....or maybe the chap doesn't have much of a neck to give a bit of height.

I love the silvery armour very realistic - main concern is that compared to Oder scar which has the better armour detail overall??

I think HT chose rubber/ plastic tubes for the bio is likely because of rust issues and the fact they are prone to damage. Playability vs detailed. Also it was a cheap move, HT learned a trick or two from Neca. :lecture

When I get my scar version 2.0 I might get some chrome spray paint and add it to the spear - that SHOULD of have had at least chrome spear tips etc by default.

Hong Kong are having extended shipping issues at the moment and the last time I ordered some parts from there they never really did make it here , so may have to turn to China or elsewhere???

I think it's obvious they stuck this guy out on the side of Iron Man and co just to remind the fans they still own the license for a franchise they seem to don't give a **** about anymore.

EEP glad I took a pass on this figure. I was holding out for Celtic but now I'm wondering if I want that one or not. I'm slowly getting out of collecting hot toys predators and it's hot toys fault.
