Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I'm thinking of getting this, after the movie I am now a superman fan. Is it me? or did Zod have the better performance in that movie, better than Sups? I thought the passionate anger was such a great performance in that movie. I would get superman just to get Zod

I think Shannon did great in that movie, his emotion was conveyed very well. I think Cavill was great and I think he was cast perfectly as Superman, his emotion was just different from Shannon's. He was searching for who he was while Zod was doing what he was engineered to do. Both gave great performances IMO. I'm not getting the HT Zod, but if it comes anywhere close to the HT Supes that just came out, it will be a great figure.

love this last shot DA:clap
Nice clear pics man.

Yeah, I have the EX. I do like the Evans sculpt and I can see a repaint would make it even nicer, but I love the helmeted head which I'm most likely gonna repaint to give it some battle damage.
There's a little devil on my shoulder though that's whispering in my ear to consider selling the cap for the MOS PF.
Its evident the cape is cloth, but I didn't realize that the boots, and THE SUIT are not sculpted!!!
That's freaking cool.
I don't know, I think I'll miss my cap though if I sell it. It's one or the other since I only have one more 1/4 display case for it.

Oh, it wouldn't surprise me if you eventually scratch that itch. :lol
If your repaint comes out anywhere near as good as you did on the 1/6, I know its gonne look badass dude

And yea man, if the MOS PF was fully sculpted I probably would've passed b/c I don't really like PFs that are that way (with the exception of the new Wonder Woman PF :thud:)...That's a tough choice man. I don't like to sell PFs. They're much more difficult to let go than 1/6 stuff for me. They just have such a presence. Sure ppl like my 1/6 but man 1/4's are show stoppers especially with one of Coco's custom display shelves

That's what makes the movie memorable, they say in these types of movie,
The hero is only as good as his villain.
Gotta admit, I had my reservations when I heard Zod was the villain, I thought if its a reboot,
Why not do a villain we've never seen before?
But now, I'm glad they made that decision.
There was no cheesiness on this Zod, and he gave a powerful performance.

no...no it doessn't :lol

That's one of the reasons this choice of getting the mos PF popped in my mind,
I'm really proud and love my modded 1/6 cap, so I think maybe I can just leave that as my only
TFA figure.
But as you said, the 1/4 has such a presence, and I love the TFA costume. This is gonna tough!
As you said, 1/4 is harder to part with than 1/6.
There was a lot of second guessing when I sold my comic cap PF.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I haven't been keeping up in here and it looks like I have a lot to catch up on. Mods, QC stuff, talk of a "new scale"

I'll have to leave this boxed until Sunday when I have some time to dedicate

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

pretty sure they are actually doing 1/6 scale figures now and not 12 inch which im all for. As you can see the top of crowe's forehead reaches cavil's eyebrows on both the figures and the actor. Also noticed on the new thor he was close too 12.6 inches as well, right under superman.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Quick question, it may sound dumb, but how do i iron the cape so that it can firmly re-crease the creases in it?

Hmm so it does look like a new accurate scale has been introduced if Crow is in scale with Cavill. Interesting.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I was right! That's good to know. Future releases with this sort of height adjustment will be awesome. Bring on The Hobbits and Star Wars! Can't imagine chewbacca and vader having the same height as all the rest. LOL.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I'm hoping that they're actually moving into true 1/6 scale. That would mean they're going to have to start making the Iron Man suits bigger though. That Midas figure above looks ridiculous next to Superman. There would have to be a child inside it.

My worry is that they just randomly went with a different size for this line. I'm guessing there haven't been any actual announcements from Hot Toys about a change in scale?

If Henry Cavill is 6'1", that would make his sixth scale figure 1'.17" (approximately). Has anyone measured the figure? How tall is it actually? Might have to give a little leeway for the thickness of the bottom of the boots and the height of his hair.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Well, to be fair, RDJ is not exactly a tall guy.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

It will be hard to compare to the avengers. Cus they might not be going by actors height. For example bane was made to look taller in tdkr but in real life he is pretty sure. They need to go by scale of the actor in the movie in my opinion

RDJ is something like 5'7" but is shot similar to how Tom Cruise is. The point about Bane/Tom Hardy is perfect. Scale the figures to how they were meant to appear in the movies. Nobody wants a dwarfed* IM.

* I say that in jest as I myself am short.
