Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Zimmer doesn't include the hero themes because he can't make them, plain and simple. First he says "well, the hero has to earn them", then you wait for the sequel to hear it and there's not a damn thing.

For Batman, he stated as much in 2005, then in 2007, then 2012 it was non-existent. He did claim that he created a heroic theme but it has never seen the light of day. He had it "ready for Dark Knight", but then pushed it back to TDKR, then never utilized it in there either.

2:00 on sounds like a very heroic theme. Only a few seconds were used during the Pruitt Building scene. I was very disappointed it wasn't used fully in TDKR.

There's stuff on the TDK and TDKR OSTs that weren't used in the films.

Why can't people enjoy both Reeve's movies and MoS? One isn't meant to take over the other. Its like comics, there have been thousands of different Superman stories for like 75 years. MoS is just a todays version. No need to think this is trying to erase the Reeve's Superman. They were awesome then and still are today IMO, and i think MoS is amazing too. You can watch and enjoy both you know...:)

GET OUT OF HERE WITH YOUR LOGIC AND TOLERANCE!!!!!

....but seriously, truth. :wink1:

:lecture:clap

I like both as well, the same way I like Burton Batman movies and Nolan Batman movies. I may prefer the Nolan films, but they both have a place for me.

I've never understood the thinking that somehow a new version or take on something nullifies the previous version. Even if a die hard Superman fan hates the new film or the Smallville series or whatever, it would only serve to enhance their preference for the Reeve films, right?

I didn't really like the Watchmen movie but I didn't think for a minute that anything had been ruined. The original comics are still great to me.

All the time.

Or, if you've recently heard the Star Wars theme and it's in your head you can't hum or remember the Superman theme and vice versa.

:lol :exactly:

Maybe this new film will grow on me over time .who knows .

I absolutely LOVED MoS right until---

Supes breaking Zod's neck...What the **** is up with that?

That basically broke my heart, seriously, I'm still aching... :monkey2

But I decided that I will pass on Supes and wait until they drop Faora.

I'm in love with that woman...

the way I saw it was that was the pivotal moment that Sups has to make the choice of does he save the people of earth or let the last bit of home he has remain alive but have to constantly battle Zod to know end. As Zod said, "Either you die or I die!" there was no way around it. It's not like it was an easy choice for him. you could see the struggle in his face. For me, it's not until that moment that what really would happen to his adopted world if he let Zod live. And it's at that moment that he knows that he will protect human kind not just saving ppl wear he's at (like at the oil rig or when the bus went over the bridge when he was young) but all over which leads to him wanting to work at the daily planet so he can save more ppl

Gipetto.

Yes, now I find myself seeing the human side of his decision, I tell you, I'm still in shock, I guess that why that movie is successful, even though it was the right decision, it made you regret it at the moment Supes was making it, I almost yelled NOOOO too :lol

Most people who are ranting are saying "He's supposed to be the man that we're not".

But in reality, he has much to learn, he has to wisen up, he has to BECOME that man, otherwise, if it was only his nature to be like that, we couldn't even dream to aspire to be like him.

I'm not understanding the hate that scene is getting. Not saying you're hating it but the reaction it's getting in general.

Because in the comics the one person he usually does end up killing is Zod and in the comics he ends up tormented by it. He even gets a split personality because of him killing Zod and I think they did his death nicely. You see him scream because of the fact that he had to kill Zod, someone who was going to destroy earth yet he still screams out in pain over what he did. Personally it's one of my favorite scene.

I thought it was a great moment. People will trust him now. He chose them over Krypton. Will he kill again and will it be a human? These questions are inevitable and part of being a superhero. The trust has to be built and Superman himself had to make a choice. Earth or Krypton and that is why that scene went the way it did

I think that's what a lot of ppl are missing. this is about him becoming superman. Just as an example, this isn't the Reeve film where he comes out of nowhere seeming to already knowing what to do. He's learning along the way. That's why I think it's ok that metropolis got destroyed. Lots of ppl are also ranting about that but in his novice heroic mind, all he's thinking about is I need to stop Zod. Sure he was trying to help the soldiers when Faora and Namek were thrashing the little town b/c that's because they were right there he could see them. He hasn't learned to be listening and seeing and all that stuff all at once.

I would have liked Superman to reference the fact that he had never hit anyone prior to running into Zod. That must have been a wild experience for him. He got to use as much strength as he could.

Exactly, he was take out of a fishing ship, straight to save the world, what the hell did they wanted him to do? :lol

I do find the part where he says "Krypton had it's chance", a little bothering, it was too cold hearted, I even felt a little sympathy for Zod.
