Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Looking forward to displaying the Reeve figure with this, and Keaton Batman with the upcoming reboot Batman.

That is pretty much the plan. I have both the 2 in 1 Routh Superman and the Reeve Superman so this in line with those two will look great on display. I have the Bale TDK and BB versions, the Keaton Batman and eventually when they reboot Batman and release the West 66' Batman I'll get those two and display them in a row.

Nothing like a nice "evolution" display.

I am planning on just such a display.
It will look great with all three Superman figures. I'm going to see if i can get a base worked out for them all in the flying pose together on one shelf.

will this fig be slimmed down?

I kind of hope not. Cavill was certainly bulkier than past Supermen and while the figure is a bit exaggerated him next to Reeve really looks good to me.

Most here believe it will, HT ultimately makes that decision but it does say "newly developed body."
I don't recall an instance where HT has done this in the past. The prototype body may appear to be an Arnold one but actually have some slight tweaks. A good rule of thumb is--don't expect anything other than what you see, and don't end up disappointed.

Not saying I believe HT will correct it, just saying a lot of the comments focus on "it's just a proto," and "HT has made changes in the past, they'll change this." Just saying HT has final say, right now we don't know anything, just what we want to believe.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

yeah, he will look cool next to the reeve superman. as far as this look being classic - time will tell i guess. i grew up with the trunks on the outside of the pants so that never really looks dated. that being said i really like the new movie costume and think that it fits perfectly in the movie and superhero looks of today. i am not averse to changes or tweaks in the costume. i like the new 52 look better than when he was blue lightning.

i love the idea of an 'evolution' of the costume display. it made for a great iron man display until there were too many with which to keep up.

btw...nice display, username!

DX10...proto was on the original Arnold body

:goodpost:

Same here. Only HT superman I don't have is the V1 Routh figure. So far they display nicely together and the MoS version will too when it arrives

This is why I love the freaks Joker has a sock wardrobe malfunction, Bane wears hipster trousers and now Superman needs to go on a diet :lol

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I don't think I'd be bothered if they keep this body. It's bulky, but I think he still looks pretty cool as is.

Explain these to me about the movie:
1) Could Zod not fly without his armor? 2) Why did he look like it was hurting him to use his laser vision?

:clapTotally agree. After seeing the movie, espcially the opening scene of him shirtless, he's a pretty buff. So I'm ok with the upper body. The thighs could be smaller and the red could be darker. But even if they don't change those 2 things, I am perfectly happy to get this as it is.

:goodpost: :exactly: I'll be happy for a change, but I like what I'm seeing.
The "inaccuracies" are not that bad for me to pass.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I am liking this figure more and more after viewing the pictures. It's also nice to see something other than Batman at the top of the DC forums.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

PO'ed this at AE.:yess: It's nice to see this at 200. I was sure this would have been at least 230! I think the hs looks great. As for the body, I think it'll be fine. This doesn't come out till next year.
I remember TDK Catwoman announcement happened during one of the Asian Toy Fairs and the body they used was a placeholder. Someone posted setup pics a while back. I don't think the new body has been developed yet to show with the proto so they mashed up parts of existing bodies instead. I'm super excited for this! :clap

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I saw this in person yesterday at Toy Hunters and he doesn't look as stocky as in these promo pictures. Actually both he and Robocop look frigging amazing. Will watch the movie on Monday, can't wait.

Is a great looking figure! The inaccuracies weren't that big a deal to me from the begining. After I saw the film, they become close to meaningless. I really thought Cavill did a great job in the role. And his look fit the mold almost perfectly.
