Can anyone explain how the payment plan works. Want to use it for him but ive never done it before. Can you only start paying monthly right before he comes out? Seems like the only option available.

Price is a bit high... Id love if his sword blade was metal as well just like the wrist blades... would make the blow a little softer. What else (besides the skull) could he come with ? maybe and environment base? cant think of anything

If City Hunter was $220 and Classic was $230, what's up with the pricetag on this one? I mean I guess some R&D went into dealing with the beads, straps, scabbard, etc. but I wouldn't have pegged this for more than $210. Hot Toys is probably counting on his cult following to sell him out, which is probably what's going to happen. I haven't PO'd Celtic yet either (though I'm planning on it) but this one will be first because something tells me he won't last too long.

I came on board with HT collecting when Berserker Predator was released. At that time Berserker was a "all new" body a move in a different direction from the old style. Asking price was $170. Was this overpriced for those long time HT collectors back then? I can honestly say now that $225 for Elder is overpriced. My first DX's were Indiana Jones and Jack Sparrow at $220. Yesterday I spent $300 on DX13. We all overlook the price to have this beauty in our collection BUT how much do you think DX13 should be worth? Now I am looking at SS Vader for $250…**** me!!

Oddly, I agree with those saying the original's head was more accurate. This one is way better body and paint detail (though the quills should be more gray IMO), but not sculpt. Shame. Still looks good though.

Seems like HT's continual reusing of previous figure parts will cause a significant dilution in the collectable aspect of their products. This is always the case with companies that were top of the line that take short cuts to speed up production, increase produced units, and address costs. The down side is that it sways the balance that makes them less like collectibles and more like toys. The very thing that created the demand they cut corners to meet, is lost over time.

Used my $75 in RP and got him for $160 shipped. Not bad. I'd rather use those now and claim my Elder. Celtic will have to wait until next month or maybe February.

I've never noticed the long neck on HT Predators quite so much as I do here^
it helps them see their prey better.

Re: Hot Toys -Predator 2 - 1/6th scale Elder Predator 2.0 Collectible Figure

Thanks to Hot Toys, now i know they are "Brothers"...

The thing is: both the P2 Elder and Snake (Shadow) are based on the P1 sculpt. While HT's City Hunter is disappointing because it followed the same basic head shape, I actually liked their Classic head. It's the closest Tsang's gotten to nailing the P1 and so it would make sense to recycle that sculpt here. My only issue is with the mandibles, but that's more of a pose problem than an inherent sculpt problem.
I always thought the original Elder, while the mandible pose was spot-on, had an unusually massive Frankenstein forehead. This guy looks much more like he should, even without the minor blowdryer tweaking he'd need to be 100%.

My only gripes at this point are the feet (but if enough people post that prop picture on their Facebook, they could easily reuse their City Hunter's foot and repaint it) and the lack of an LED laser on the cannon. I never use the light-up features but for a figure that costs $15 more than I'd expected, it'd be nice to have thrown it in.

Other than that, I personally think the original Elder has been dethroned. This is currently the best-looking HT Predator out there for me. Scar was cool, but much more off (regardless of whether or not that was a good thing) and City Hunter... well, let's just say he's still wearing his helmet.

I agree , this is the best looking ht predator thus far, looking forward to wolf and new p1 next.:impatient:

Wow, this was a nice surprise to come home from work to. I'll finally have all the 1/6 Preds that I've wanted since I got their 1987 P1 (now long sold).
My converted Classic to P1
City Hunter 2.0
Elder 2.0

:yess:
Won't have to pay attention to future Pred releases anymore.
