WINNER!! :lol:rotfl

To this day I still think Tobey’s Spider Man 2 is one of the best “super hero” movies ever. Beautiful “comic book” movie. Every villain has a purpose. There’s no crazy take over the world crap or characters changed to black outfits because their costumes would look like crap in the real world. On that note I have always loved Spider-Man 3 Sandman costume. It really feels like it jumped right out of a page from a comic book!!!

emmmmm never really digged that movie, but it was good for sure

lol terrible character design translates into terrible figure! PASS!

I think Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero movies yeah, but I hate what they did with Otto. Like with Max is ASM2, what's the deal with making all our villains sympathetic from the get go now. Can't they just be evil? That's what I like about the comic versions so much more.

Yeah I'm all for pure Evil, I always end up liking the more evil villains anyway, ruthless uncompromising villainy please :D

To be fair, we have had our fair share of evil/psychopathic villains too. Look at Green Gobln from the original Raimi film, sure he had a "split-personality", but even as Norman he was a douchey abusive father. Let's not forget the ever-popular Joker from TDK, who was pretty damn evil through and through.

Now I don't know, I personally thought it was appropriate for Dock-Ock to be sympathetic and it's not OOC for him considering he's had his run as a sympathetic villain in the comics a couple of times as well. Sympathetic villains are fine if they're done right, but what failed with Electro's writing was how all that buildup amounted to nothing. He was built up to be this sympathetic guy with issues but was literally taken out like an average bad guy with very little impact to the actual plot or its characters. I was fine with him from the start all the way up to the Time Square fight, everything else that came after simply fell apart.

Just look at Fassbender's Magneto. He's portrayed as being very sympathetic with understandable motives and circumstances, but his methods/plans are villainous. He's still portrayed as headstrong and determined in his cause so it's not like being sympathetic is a sign of weakness. By making him sympathetic we can relate to him or empathize in some way, all while portraying his actions as violent and misguided cements his effectiveness as an unforgiving villain. It's all about balance, effective characterization and development that makes for a good villain (something that TASM2 wasn't very good at in the first place).

Yeah I forgot to mention Dafoe's Goblin. I thought he was written and portrayed perfectly and with Mags, that's already a part of his story anyway so he gets a pass

Okay after thinking about it I was kinda over exaggerating but I dunno dude, I like having villains who are evil through and through as long as they're portrayed right. Red Skull had potential but was kinda weak in the end.

I agree about the movie but Ock didn't dress in a green jumpsuit like the comic, they changed his look to fit the world. Sandmans "costume" was just brown trousers and a striped green jumper, hard for anyone to mess that up

Looks like Mr. Freeze.

No, not it doesn't, at all.

design I didn't like translates into excellent figure based upon that design.

Love the figure, but with all the awesome stuff coming out I'm opting for a more classic approach.

it's still rough but I think it will come out alright.

I like the figure a lot. Whether you like the character or not, there's no denying HT have done an excellent job crafting it and making it work.
