Yeah I don't know about that either way. I have not taken mine out the box all the way, just opened it to make sure it's all there. But u can clearly see the waist grabber pole. I imagine you don't need a whole new stand, just the pole section. All the Aou ones attach the same way so that's all you need and you can use the stand with the correct plate on it. I grabbed a quick unboxing screen grab and you can see the stand it comes with. It's not my video.

Any time a figure has a dress or coat tails like this, HT will use the waist stand so that it doesn't interfere with the clothing. With the cradle stands, the stem will obstruct the clothes so they don't hang naturally and sticks out in the back.

I wouldn't expect anything else. They're just recycling the already existing AoU base and stand from the first SW figure.

I think what they're trying to say is it's about aesthetics. With this figure, the waist-grabber stand is going to be far more obvious against her red jacket, since there is no way to hide it. The black pants will make a crotch stand less obvious.

The figure is plenty secure sitting on the "crotch" stand. Some collectors feel the figures don't even need stands, but needless to say the "crotch" stand provides plenty of "security" for a figure. I have never had one fall over on a stand.

The waist grabber stand seems to be used most nowadays for when the clothes of a figure makes a crotch stand impractical or awkward like when a figure has a dress. The first regular AoU Wanda met that criteria, but it doesn't seem like the New Avengers version really does. I think the comments guessing they just re-used the first stand as-is might be a reasonable guess as to why it has the waist grabber version. I don't like the waist grabber version because the stand is too visible, especially if it's a different color than the costume it is grabbing. I just think if a stand is used at all the crotch stand is more subtle and makes for a better presentation.

I think once the CW Scarlet Witch goes up for PO tomorrow, people will cancel this NA SW. However, if SSC only has 200 pieces, I don't expect mass cancellations...

I generally don't like them from an aesthetic perspective. Such as the ANH Leia figure for instance with the white tunic. Even though you don't really have a choice to use it because of the draping tunic, it doesn't look very good with a black waist grabber around the waist over a white tunic.

I also think they somewhat hinder poseability and they're more difficult to deal with in getting them on the figure. Like Jaymas said, crotch grabbers to me are every bit as secure as waist grabbers. I use crotch grabbers whenever possible.

The only figures i have with waist grabbers are my old sideshow star wars figures. I do agree that a crotch type is easier to set up.
