Yeah, both kimi and I had our shipping soon notices to NZ about a week ago... Well I just got my final 'charging soon' notice today, which said Wed (presumably US time).. so no doubt she will have had one too.. Dunno about other countries yet..

I believe some spoke to a SSC rep and was told that for those in the U.S. it is at least 30 days out. But that was a week ago

SO EXCITED!!! Now I just need to get crap sorted out with my new detolf delivery Got one off Trade Me and one of the packages with the glass smashed en route to being delivered. Sent it back with the courier but the courier has to assess it for compensation to the sender, so it hasn't been sent back to them yet so the sender can't send a replacement to me yet, so currently the only loser here is me, who has paid for the detolf, got nothing out of it, and not getting compensated for it by Courier Post Hopefully it gets sorted before Wanda arrives.

Curs'ed courier companies.. they self signed and lost my Bon Jovi concert tickets a few years back and they blew out of my mailbox. Found them wet and dirty in the garden a week later. Then they self signed the replacements. Just one of many sub-standard experiences I've had with them..

Oh no!! That's awful, Kiwi! This is my first negative experience with the courier, I don't get a lot of courier stuff, but I hope it works out okay. I naively thought that contacting the courier company was the first port of call after I saw the damage, but I probably should've just contacted the seller directly ><

On the other hand, I've had about 300 orders through Mighty Ape who always use Courier Post, and I've only ever had one lost item (which I believe was stolen by a friend of a local teen).. It's the self signing the bigger, more expensive stuff, when it has 'signature required' that miffs me most these days across all the courier companies.

I don't actually know if I'll be able to! We don't have an Ikea store in New Zealand, the person I'm buying the detolf from imports them and resells them on Trade Me (like Ebay, for New Zealand), so I don't know if they have the light strips available or not

Ah I see. Well even if you can't find those specific lights I would still try and find some sort of small light strip for your detolfs. It's great for your collection!

I believe it is, yes, to go with the lightening of her hair at the end of AoU

Pleasant surprise today, but I got a call from my local retailer that they got this in. I called them back when Hot Toys first unveiled her and they just said they'd take my number down if they got one, but they doubted it. They said they managed to get a case, but I don't know if they're all reserved. In any case, if you're in Toronto looking for one, give Toys2.net a call (they haven't put it for order on their site).

Ah, well like DA said, I would highly recommend finding some sort of small light strips. I would imagine IKEA isn't the only place that offers them. Most collectors just get them at IKEA because the standard detolfs that collectors use are available at IKEA, so they just pick up the light strips there also. Even so, I would imagine you could order some online or possibly eBay as a worst case scenario?
