Re: Hot Toys - MMS420 - GOTG Vol.2 - Star-Lord Figure

I sure can see that the sculpt is better, that's why I said from the beginning that it's not about wich one is better but whyyyyyy they choose to make a soulless expression on it! Now u have those promotional pictures with the aiming guns and that silly face that just doesn't match at all the attitude or the character. As for that movie still to show that he is not smiling all the time... well it would serve as argument if you want to portrait him in a moment of sadness and broken heart. I'll give u that :) .
As for the one at the poster, it HAVE an expression on his face! I could live with that one

Anyway I'm surprised that no one cares that he is as soulless as it can be, but I certainly had to get the frustration out of my chest!! I'm much better now that I bashed it a little ;)
I don't really get where a neutral expression = soulless but if you just wanna vent, alright. ^^

And he doesn't need to be sad or heartbroken to look neutral. :lol He looked like that when he went to the Kyln and when they got ready to fight Ronin and they were walking the cool walk. :lol

Anyway, as always, to each his/her own. :) I'm glad I like the sculpt.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS420 - GOTG Vol.2 - Star-Lord Figure

This is certainly one of those why not both situations...

Of course likeness is important. No one here has claimed it isn't, but there's something to be said for a sculpt that delivers an expression that just exudes the essence of the character. Some people aren't sure it's spot on, but damn if that stormie disguise han doesn't just nail the han solo character.

Ya know everyone had this argument in the drax thread too. I don't think any one is too particular about it anymore. We just want the damn thing released lol

While i agree the HF likeness is way better on that than say the John Stamos version, the creepy pervy smirk is not han to me. I don't recall him doing a creepy smile in the detention level. :dunno
This figure is still WAY too early to debate this crap though. I mean c'mon lets wait and see the final product 1st, as the last starlord changed a lot from proto to mp.

*shudders* ugh ... what a change. XD If HT had actually delivered the proto sculpt, I'd have gotten that first Star-Lord.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS420 - GOTG Vol.2 - Star-Lord Figure

They might add a little more "Starlord" to this sculpt for the Infinity war version.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS420 - GOTG Vol.2 - Star-Lord Figure

Eyes looking slightly to his right does feel infinitely more Star-Lord.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS420 - GOTG Vol.2 - Star-Lord Figure

Funny how some people seem to not like Drax's "boring" expression in the GotG Vol2 Drax thread yet here we are with this Star Lord sculpt..... Hilarious

I'm worried that if I don't order this now it will be sold out by the time the movie rolls around I have some actual money again :( lol. Do figs generally linger around till their ship dates? Will this guy be outta stock anytime soon?? The regular version

If any of us could answer those questions life would be sooooo much easier :lol. Get one from BBTS no NRD and you don't have to worry about it until it ships next year.

Ohhhhhh doing that right now! Thnx lol

I saw the movie last night here in the U.K. And it's fantastic! Amazing action, rich characters and an emotional ending. Absolutely the MCU at its best. James Gunn is brilliant and we're lucky to have him involved.

Now if only the HT Star Lord would ship sooner than a years time!

Also something interesting - i PO the deluxe version from Toy HQ at £250 and on forbidden planet, it's £280!! I wonder why?!

He's got a decent amount of screen time.

I didn't think much of it the first time I saw it. I think I expected waaaay too much. Enjoyed it a lot more on the second viewing, though.

The whole Groot intro is absolute gold.

Kurt arrives in the first twenty minutes and has several meaty scenes mainly with Chris for the rest of the film. I really hope HT makes him.

I caved and can't wait now! Deluxe figure looks great!! Don't want to miss out on this one.
Thanks for pushing me over the edge threadies, lol
Now let's see Spidey already......
