Starting to feel like they're using the deluxe branding as a way to stealthily raise the price for everything in general.

That or they just see everyone always complaining about "He doesn't come with enough accessories!" and "Why doesn't he include that one item he glanced at out of the corner of his eye for three frames of the movie?!" and they're just offering people a chance to choose if they want those extra items or not. *shrug*

He's now available for pre-order for $259. Regular is $244. Direct links:

Yeah... direct links with what looks like your referral code attached? That's a little scummy. I'm not sure if its a strict policy, but I think Dave usually gets to post the referral purchase links to generate revenue for the board.

Liking the new head sculpt. I may paint over the red face paint and use this head sculpt for a long haired Thor.

For the price difference, I think I'd be sticking with the deluxe. It at least comes with Einherjar, which I assume means something in the Thor-verse.. :lol

Yeah I think I'm going to be getting this one... So much for only one of everyone bar Iron Man! He'll look incredible set up with Ragnorak Hulk.

Einherjer in the original mythology - to put it simplistically dead warriors who are enlisted into Odin's bodyguards/standing army for the end of the world.

Anything significant re: the sword in comic-verse?

Not that I'm aware of, though I'm not definitely not that great at Thor-comics knowledge, sorry! I suspect he'll borrow them from one of the gold-clad/cloaked generic guards that we've seen generally lurking about in the previous two films.

Too bad it doesn't come with Mjolnir.

Might wait till the movie comes out to pre order this, but it's a strong possibility. I love the design.

Previous Thor owners: how do the seamless arms hold up? Guess you wouldn't keep the posed at ninety degrees but do they stand up to mild to moderate posing over time?

Considering what happens to Mjolinir, that's not suprising at all. Plus it is their one attempt at doing something different with Thor, given that the 5 figures of him to date have been based on a look which really hasn't varied much at all.

I can't comment on the seamless arms in posing, as with the exception of my Iron Man figures, all my figures are kept in simple poses. I am also using the light up variant of Mjolnir with the AoU figure, which is the lighter of the two hammers in the set.

Looking forward to the new Loki sculpt and seeing Valkyrie up for pre-order. The Tessa Thompson sculpt is jaw dropping. Also I hope they include a long haired sculpt with Hela.

Hell I'd get a Bruce Banner from this. The A1 version didn't do it for me.

No, I'm not surprised he doesn't have Mjolnir, though I'm sure he gets it back by the end of the film. I would just prefer to have the option to display him with the hammer. I can always buy one separately.

The other possibility is that, like Rey, the hammer will be revealed as part of the set when the film comes out. Unlikely, but possible.

At that price I prob will only get the regular. The 2 deluxe items seems not worth the extra money.

I wasnt planning on buying another thor but i really like this one. I need the swords though cause i dont like the other weapons, so the regular version is not an option. Already placed a po at bbts to avoid paying nrd at ssc right now. If its still in stock closer to ship date ill switch my order over to get the rp

The Einherjar in the MCU are odins warrioirs. They were seen training in Thor the dark world when thor and odin are talking over the courtyard. Basically the swords are just regular asgardian warrior swords. Guessing he picks a few up off of the undead warriors Hela throws at them in the trailer. You can see him holding them on the rainbow bridge next to loki, hulk, and valkrie facing off against hela

This look has been growing on me. The fig itself and all the accessories are awesome.

The one thing that I can't swallow is Thor (and Loki) shooting a laser rifle. That irks me every time I see it in the trailer. Maybe it'll resonate and play out better when watching the whole movie

First Thor figure for me. Wasn't a huge fan of the character but I hope this new film would leave a better impression.
Ever since I saw the trailer I just couldn't wait for hot toys to reveal the figure. I love the awesome gladiator design.

This pose here differently sealed the deal for me.

Yeah, I honestly like that sort of look much better than the helmet, shield, and big I'm gonna F you up club look...
