You guys realise most of the film has a green filter over it right?

Im pretty sure the suits are black, throw in lighting and then coloring and it heavily distorts other colors on screen.

So then you are at a dilemma. You have how it looks on the screen during the movie. Or how it looks in real life and not in the movie you watched.

Exactly.

They have chosen to go with costume accuracy rather than film color grading. A fair choice since that green hue affects skin tones as wel, not sure green skin will go down well with the paint job.

But there are three versions of the film right? The theatrical version, the original DVD (which most people remember), and the updated color bluray. :gah:

What is the correct color? My guess, HT will use the sequels as reference.

Yeah the Wachowskis cranked up the green on the blu-ray of the original flick in order to better match the two sequels. I saw the original four times in the theater in 1999 and would prefer the original color grading but it isn't thst big a deal. For the figures I think costume accuracy is better than screen accuracy. Otherwise as has already been mentioned they'd have to add green tint to the skin as well.

Has to be original with the ear piece that can be removed hahaha. Maybe a little magnet inside the ear?

Does anyone know BBTS shipping policy. On the page that Neo is up for preorder on it says it qualifies for $4 flat rate shipping. When I did my preorder it says shipping is $11.50. First time ordering from them so not sure how they work.

It should just be $4. When you check out make sure you're selecting Pile of Loot in your shipping type option. That will let you add items up to 90 days together in one shipment.

Screen accuracy always wins for me. That’s why I’m a blue jacket Han kind of guy (also because I’m nostalgic for the old Kenner figure).

I've never really gotten into this argument before, but here's a question. If a green filter is used, why doesn't Neo's outfit look green as well? Both supposedly are black. And if you then say additional coloring is used for Smith to make it look green, then that is the intended color. Why is it any different than any other special effect. Screen accuracy is important. With the use of green and blue screens and motion capture, why don't we just settle for actors in black leotards with dots all over them then if real life accuracy is important.

I see only one solution. Hot Toys must provide...2 suits. *read in Smith's voice*
They will provide barebones figure in a black inaccurate suit with inaccurate glasses.
And most of you will buy it without hesitation.

The 2 pictures of Smith above illustrate the different suits used. For all the films, scenes shot within the Matrix used a Green filter. In the first movie, Smith wore a Green / Grey suit (not black). In the 2nd and 3rd movie, he wore a noticeably black suit (even thought the Green filters were still used). This was done to show he was now separate (unplugged) from the machines. So a Smith from the 1st movie should be wearing a Green/grey suit, which is both screen and real life accurate. The ties are black and appear as such on screen, proving that filters and lighting are not affecting the on screen appearance of the suit.

I am totally in agreement with you. Since I never bought into the argument that the suits were black in the first movie, I never did any research on the matter. Has NO ONE seen one of the suits in real life to say one way or the other? Has NO ONE ever just asked Weaving?

I think you're right, the new agents in part 2 had the green/grey suit. Smith had a dark black suit with no green or grey.

Yup....and if he is 1/4 cm too tall , I will buy also....

There is a difference between the truly **** screen accurate folks and most collectors....

I always view all 1:6 as the best available representation of a character.

This is....therefore it’s a buy for me.
If your waiting for perfection in all things , including entertainment, your gonna be waiting a long time and end up unfulfilled.
