Most of the world doesn't read comic books, therefore most of the world didn't get all pissy because The Mandarin didn't pan out to be what they'd thought he would be.

Going to see IM3 for the 6th time tonight, myself. So that number will go up a little. ;)

Fair enough, but if the Lord of the Rings movies suddenly had Sauron as a jester, people'd be pissed.

I don't think that analogy works.
A single set of three books with a fairly rigid storyline wouldn't be as fluid and changeable as comics can be.
Comics have a reputation for changing the entire mythos around every now and again, restarting storylines and re-telling origins.
This is no different than that.

And who said the real Mandarin still dont exist in the Marvel Cinematic universe !!! He could still be there somewhere !!!

If how Madarin was adapted was acceptable then so must be Galactus and Deadpool

I know I'm in the vast minority here, but Deadpool is my favorite super hero and I actually love the Wolverine Origins movie.

But for me, I look at movies as stand alone stories, separate from the comics. So when they deviate, as long as I enjoy the story, it doesn't bother me.

But....ask me if I'd like them to make that "real Deadpool movie" they've been talking about for years.......? :yess:

Didnt even think of that but so true. Mandarin is the latest added to the fail list. For some reason its some of the darkest most destructive characters they do wrong because they have to break them down and make them something else. Blows. But its a movie and directors of course have to have their own personal views of the story. Which almost always comes out to be lousy. Just be nice if actual marvel writers/consultants had a word on the matter, cause its obvious they didnt. Im hoping and praying the sentinels arent going to tell jokes either. Lol

That smells like maths, its not as simple as maths there are more variables :lol

Really, its not the same, maybe its because for some reason many people think Wolverine origins suck, Iron Man 3 was the most successful movie of the year, the people have spoken... maybe if some years when all of this is rebooted the classic Mandarin will show up, for now I think this figure is a good representation of that, badass

The fig is spot on bad *** looking I always said that. I would totally grab this in a heart beat if I didnt just hate what they did with him in the movie. Still I wana see behind those glasses cause selina kyle for example looks worlds better with her mask on. lol

I'm probably with the minority here as well, but I loved the Mandarin in IM3. Only Ben Kingsley can act so well as to overshadow my first reaction of bewilderment and hatred. I simply adored him in the part. The film was a bit too noisy for me, but the part with Tony and the Kid, man, that was GOLD! Anyway, love this figure, but not enough to pay for it.

I'm with you 1000%. Loved The Twist, loved Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Also love the look of the figure. But based on what happened in the movie, I wouldn't pay more than about $100 for this figure. And we all know that aint gonna happen.
