Hot Toys Predator 1 FINALLY coming

can't you just take any of the other bajillion Arnold figures that have been made since the 80s and put it in a camo outfit?
am i missing something special about Dutch here?

I'm not 8th wonder, but IMO it's easier to pay Hot Toys to do the work for us, and the final results way better

honestly, i'm way more excited someone actually made a Billy figure than another Predator or Arnold.

the one thing that made me most excited about this arnold is that its actually an official predator figure and not a custom so we get an awesome box and all ( which I personally use as part of the display too ). Other than that I guess he would be a pretty easy bash.

No, i want an official Dutch figure. Ive been a fan of this movie for about 20 years now. I have a sideshow P1 bust so Dutch is more important to me.

By the way i think it's strange to pick Billy if there are only going to be 2 human figures. After Dutch i think Dillon was the most important human character of the movie, not Billy.

And the fact they already have the rights to use his likeness gives them more of a reason. Unless of course they have to buy two seperate licenses for his likeness with each movie.

Isn't that how it works? Otherwise wouldn't you just buy the likeness rights to the cheapest license there is for any actor.

I think HT may have skated by with their Appollo with some weird paint apps like the old ALIENS figure, but I wonder how they might have to handle Dillon today. Weathers is so picky, he actually forced JAKKS to change their Appollo figures to have less a resemblance.

So its likely hot toys wern't allowed to use his face ?.
I'm suprised the figure passed and was allowed to be sold. Has anybody repainted that head ?. I'm sure hes under there.

Yes, but if you were lucky enough to get one before he forced them, it was SPOT on, perfect. The changed one is decent and close enough, but the original was as good as a Hot Toys 1/6. He even made them blur out his face in any photos of Apollo in Rocky Balboa.

So if Hot Toys decides to made figures of 'Arrested Development', no chance to have a Carl Weathers as himself?

So true,i collect these Action figs,have all 6 series plus the 2 extra series that came after.Carl Weathers werent happy with the Series 1 figure so he wanted a different sculpt for series 2,and that one turned out awful.
He was disspointed with the result so he wanted the old head back for the Series 4 Drago/Apollo exclusive plus a smiling Head.Later on the beach run Apollo with the old head again.

He didnt want his face shown in the Last Rocky Balboa movie either,you remember the framed pic in Paulies room,they blurred Apollo`s face.Weathers has gotten so weird the last years.

Yup, as far as likenesses in this line go, the test will be seeing Billy repainted with pure flesh and whether it looks like Sonny or not. If it doesn't, maybe they just secured Arnie's rights because of his importance and just do something generic for any others. If it looks like Sonny, then maybe the old ^^^^ty paint apps tricks of the ALIENS line can apply here.
