I don't think the film did justice to the predator designs. In some scenes they look good, in others, not so much. The costumes in general did seem very cheap as well.

Mr. Black, Falconer and Tracker are all brilliant designs though, IMO. Which is why I'm excited for the eventual HT 2.0's. They'll be much better represented as figures.

I doubt they'll make 2.0 versions of supahperdators. What's the point if they were almost perfect?!
Maybe damaged version of Berserker but that's it.

Well...Predators was on the 1/6 & 1/4 scale announcement photo.

I only purchased Mr. Black of the Berserker trio and I thought it could have definitely been improved on.

Interesting. Though I like them all, Tracker is easily my least favorite.

Not quite sure what I dislike about him, he just doesn't "pop" as much as the other two IMO.

To be honest, both Tracker & Falconer were both poorly portrayed in the movie. Especially Falconer who you could tell was a guy in a suit swinging round an oversized blade.

Agreed. What really got to me was how lifeless Tracker was. It's like the actor playing him was a robot.

He gets shot in the shoulder, makes a loud roar but doesn't move a muscle? :lol

And then the whole incident with Nikolai (I believe that's the Russian dude's name) where he just stands there for what seems like an hour watching him as he detonates the claymore. :lol :slap

Yep, over time I've come to dislike the movie more and more. It has a few good points about it but overall it still disappoints me. Brian Steele did and OK job with Berserker but not hiring Ian Whyte was a big mistake by Rodriguez.

If I remember correctly Ian Whyte refused for some reason - he was committed to another film at the time or something

I think he was filming Clash of the Titans at the time but personally I think RR was just being a douche by wanting to have nothing related to the AVP films, even though Whyte did a great job.

Ah, yeah I can see that being the case. Funny how RR bashed Predator 2 and claimed that Predators would be the "true sequel to Predator", then it ended up being much worse than P2.

Kinda like the idiots who made the godawful Aliens: Colonial Marines game and kept repeatedly bashing Alien 3. Makes me sick. :monkey4

I wonder why he didn't like P2 in the first place. I sure hope his reasoning wasn't because the film was too "outlandish" (all the new weapons, clan aspect, etc), considering that RR had ideas of four-armed and king predators. :slap

I'd like to see a sequel to Predators just because it ended very openly, and I really liked Brody's Royce - but at the same time I wish they would just start from scratch with a completely new story and director and everything.

Haha yeah, it was far worse indeed. I think that's the main thing that annoyed me most about the film; the way that RR bigged up his new super Preds to be bigger and better than the original and completely ignored Predator 2. The outcome being he failed to make his Preds even come close to what we've seen before and a he made worse film than Predator 2 and indeed the AVP films (IMO).

Yup, agreed.

the comicbook sequel is pure kahkah. goro pred for the LOLZ. RR should've stick with ADHD centered franchise like spy kids. :lol

Rodriquez lives in his own little world. His movie isn't anywhere close to what P2 is.
He says some parts of Predators was an homage to Predator? Hell, the entire movie itself was an homage. His movie should have been included in the Predator Blu-ray under "Deleted scenes".

I think people often forget that Predators is not actually Rodriguez's film, nor is he credited with the screenplay. I'm not saying he had nothing to do with it because he clearly did, but credit were credit is due, I think Nimrod Antal did a pretty decent job with film. I think Rodriguez must feel a slightly overblown sense of ownership because the movie is based loosely around an idea he had and has been knocking around at Fox since the first film was released.

I do agree that Rodriguez and his production company seem very particular about the people they work with, but then I guess that's nothing new.
