It's a cool Japanese/Samurai alien monster thing. Horrible Predator though.

It's a horse head stuck in a way over muscular predator body with a samurai armor.:cuckoo::ohbfrank: The hands and feet look good anyway!

But the nice and acceptable thing's is it's base with the xenomorph and the excellent armor which looks fantastic!:clap

I accept that it's a stylized art piece and a rather nifty-looking one at that. It's just not a style I'm particularly fond of. If they had gone with a different flavor (or maybe had Narin or Steve Wang collaborate on it), then I'd probably be sold.

I would be more interested too if there was different artist at hand

Isn't there a thread for the samurai pred? How did this thread get hijacked? Everytime I see this thread bumped I get excited about some possible new news only to find out were talking about this pred outside of it's very own thread! :)

You're right, but actually this thread's title is for all the new predators to be released in future from any license and in 1/6 and 1/4, and yes, Samurai isn't from a movie, but it is under the AvP license, so... there ya go :nana:

BTW, me gusta Samurai Predator :D .

Well to change the topic from the Samurai Predator, does anyone have a clue if hot toys will re-do Arnold in 1/6 scale? and if so what type of version he will be such as Original or Final Battle.....

We're going to see 1/4 version first anyway.
And if I was HT... would make the final battle 1/6 version shortly after the 1/4 release.

So I have been lurking the predator pages on here for a few weeks, and have finally decided to step out from the shadows and reply to some of the things I have been reading. It seems a lot of people are constantly *****ing about the recent Hot Toys preds, and their "inaccuracies". I, personally, think the newer releases all look fantastic and am super stoked on the re-release of the P2, as well as any remakes they have planned. I just started collecting 1/6 with the release of Berserker, so the original predator Hot Toys are god awful looking to me (P1, AVP, AVPR, etc.). I think, if anything, that the preds in "Predators" were inaccurate anyway (disproportionate heads compared to the smaller bodies) and that the Hot Toys releases cleared that up and gave an accurate representation of what they characters should have looked like.

But at the end of the day, You want to pay $200 for the final product you saw on screen, Not the concept art. I do think the figures can have a bit of room to alter a few things about where the suits have limitations and the figures dont. All the new Predators do look like awesome figures. But they tamper with their actual heads and faces. And its not like the company making the figures cannot make accurate heads. They make human head sculpts extremely well at times. But all of the Predator sculpts dont even look like they are the same species let alone face. They're not even close. So it is an intentional "dont care" towards the sculpt or a cheap " lets make a 1 face fits all" headsculpt so they can just mass produce it for any creature thinking we dont know of their differences,

:lecture Pretty much. If HT wants to design their own predators they should try working in the films. Its not for them to decide what 'would look better' even if I happen to agree with their idea...which in most cases I don't

Again, I just don't see where the "inaccuracies" lie within the headsculpts of the newer preds. I think the headsculpt of Berserker was pretty spot on, and the classic looked great too- the furrow of the brow was perfect, as well as the slight mandible curl like in the movie when he notices the traps Arnold has laid! The upcoming P2 headsculpt looks damn near spot on from the prototype pics that have been released as well as the paint apps. The only issue I have seen was with the Shadow pred mandables not relaxing in the proper way as another member pointed out (I forget his name). If anything the bio sculpt on the 1/4 NECA was pretty bad, and Hot Toys always has far superior paint apps for they're newer preds. Keep in mind, everything I am referring to is from Shadow on, since they introduced they new body type.

OK, sorry I immediately have to disagree. In fact I would take Berserker as the most perfect example of Hot Toys just making it up. It looks cool, but it has little resemblance to what was in the film. Of all the preds I'm really surprised you pointed to that one as an example of HT accuracy and to the only fleetingly seen Shadow Predator as having an issue. But look, I'm not telling you not to enjoy them, I like the HT Berserker aswell - my main beef with it is the flimsy dreadlocks.

Honestly, I've seen TWO Preds being slaughtered by the same Alien (Grid) in a movie. Nothing could be more inaccurate than that, so for me Hot Toys could go for any concept they want until they throw out good quality items.
My opinion, of course.

I dig. What I was talking about with the Shadow, was that in the film he has basically the same face as the city hunter, just different color pattern. So, the madibles interlock similarly and are the same length. The Hot Toys Classic and Shadow seem to have almost the exact same headsculpt, which I'm sure we all know the P2 and Jungle have different mandibles, etc. I guess the mandibles on Berserker should have been more pronounced and maybe the eyes could have been done better. All in all I just think the body proportions, bio sculpts, and paint are better than anything else out there. Including a lot of Sideshow stuff. I really think the LSB paint is way too light looking, and his expression just looks silly to me.

The only thing I see that you "accuracy" nerds could be complaining about is maybe the way the mandibles fold in? I dunno...tell me what's so off about it?

I'm sorry but I can't take you seriously. Whilst it's an overall great figure to own, Hot Toys Berserker is probably one of Hot Toys most inaccurate headsculpts.
