Hey everyone I am really interested in picking up the endoskeleton but I see most/all figures have a dirty chrome appearance. Is that part of the factory finish or from oxidation/breakdown? Has anyone tried polishing with simichrome (see video)?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

It's weathered out of the box.
No oxidation :)

They have got some slight weathering to them. Had mine since 2013 and its still as shiny as the day I got it.
A bit of polishing now and again keeps it looking like new.

Repainting the base was nice, but since I wanted it to properly represent T1, I got myself some KO flame effects, some steel plating, cut it up to fit certain parts, when adhered with 3M silicon tape and painted the plates a thin dark brown, like real runny, as if the heats thins it up again, but also burnt it and voila:

T1 burnt tanker base conversion!

Can anyone remember what batteries come into the skull? EDIT: Never mind: LR41.

Good lighting there overall, it disguises what I find to be the excessively 'bright' colour of this figure.

Those flame effects are nifty, I use them for my 1/6 endo and Tanker Truck T-800, I use them in my NECA Aliens Hive setup and they can work with the Hasbro Star Wars stuff too.

Here's my custom 1/6 Endo, a pic of a setup from years ago, unfortunately I don't currently have room to display it with the backdrop anymore.

edit - hah, incidentally my QS002 is behind me in the reflection in this pic

Looks awesome ShiftRefresh. Nice pose on the figure! Love the endoskeleton design, it's truly iconic.
Thanks mate! You're right on, that fact that a cheap plastic interpretation of the endoskeleton can still look quite impressive is a testament to the incredible original design. 100% iconic! :D
