Thanks for the tip Sith Lord! I had the clamp on for about 10 seconds and saw that it was really pinching the rubber section of the torso, so I took it off. HandiTAK on the feet is a cool idea...especially since I don't want to pose Robo, and come home from work to see he's taken the old "shelf-dive" and chipped/scuffed that wonderful paint-job on the helmet!

P.S., your 'action' shots look AWESOME! Great work man...

You're welcome, Indiana!! :)

Keep in mind, though, that Robo can still tip forward if his center of gravity is off. My advice is go for a standard leg/foot pose and keep the torso in line with the stance. You can have the arms, hands, and head posed. In fact, you can even turn the torso and open the leg holster. Just don't have any leaning forward/backward poses, or gravity'll win out over the HandiTAK.

And thanks for the compliments on the shots. Here's one of the latest off my "assembly line" :)

Well done Jeff...I know you had wanted to attempt this pic, and you did a great job. I so need to get photoshop & a digital camera....

Thanks, Chase. That's only my "Generation 1" attempt. Now that I've done it once, I have a better hands-on knowledge of what's involved. There are areas where I know I need to fine-tune things, so I'm sure my "Gen 2" picture (whenever that ends up being) will likely turn out much better.

For my next trick, I'll be grafting a screen capture of Peter Weller's unmasked head/neck onto my HT figure. I'll work on that later after I go to sleep for the night.

As promised, here is an unmasked Peter Weller portrait digitally grafted onto the HT Robocop.

Also, I've successfully expanded upon that technique and, using some other methods, digitally incorporated battle damage onto the figure as well.

I do have several other Robocop pics that I haven't posted (don't want to spam the thread with images). I think I posted this link earlier, but I'll do so again...

Nicely done Jeff! Great stuff!

I'm so glad you've come to really dig this figure as much as so many of us have. :D

Yes it's simple and has few accessories, yes it has some poseability limitations, but it is without doubt the most film-accurate sixth scale Robocop ever made (as we can clearly see from your and SP's amazing integrated screencap shots) and yes it has the most amazing paint apps and the coolest design features!

Mine arrived today (in EU). I'm totally blown away! Perfect, no damage on the figure nor the box! I had to look for the figure stand, I didn't find it right away :D. I didn't assemble Robo, for one, because I like to keep him MIB for now, and secondly, I don't have room to display him anyway. It seems you can't take him apart once you have put him together. What a shame.
Now that I have him in hand, I'm undecided whether the $185 (with shipping and taxes) isn't a bit to much for this figure. I'm with Sith Lord on this one: it's overpriced. Even though this Robo rocks. Same for the ED209 which I have on order: $195 ($265 after taxes and shipping), that's a lot of money for a toy! Glad the 12" Ripley is a great deal cheaper. I might be canceling my 12" Alien warrior though. Hot Toys is great material, but it's expensive too!

First of all, congratulations on getting an undamaged Robo!!! :chew

Secondly, yes you can take him apart once he's assembled...to an extent. You can easily remove the arms and legs. The head...I wouldn't try removing it...most because it's a pain in the rear to attach in the first place.

Because he needs to be unassembled to fit back in the box, you'll have to widen the tray where the neck is to fit the torso w/ attached head back in the box. Just get a knife and cut away some of the flimsy plastic.

Thanks for the tip! Didn't think of that.

I just noticed the subtile price difference between Robocop ($129) and Robocop III ($129,99). Sneaky! :D

FEDEX SUCKS!

I hate Fedex. After 3 "supposed" delivery attempts, Robocop is headed back to Sideshow. They didn't leave a single note. Makes me wonder if they even bothered ringing the doorbell. :censored

Aren't they supposed to leave a "sorry, we missed you" card with contact information for you to arrange delivery???

Freakin' FedEx.

UPS isn't much better though.

I did get Robo when promised, but I live on a second floor apartment and the entrance is around the back of the house. I left a big note asking them to leave it by my door upstairs (less than a minute walk).

I'm upstairs...saw the truck pull up. By the time I grabbed my sandals and went downstairs to meet them and make things easier, they were already pulling away. There's the box...front porch of the vacant first floor apartment...

Sorry to hear that Darth, I don't know what's worse, not getting him or getting him with defective paint apps and returning him for a replacement. Either way, we don't have him yet. I think because this is over $100 signature is required and maybe you weren't home or whatever. I would simply call Fedex or SSC CS and they will straighten it out for you... just arrange for you delivery to be at time when you are home if ya can!

I called them and they said there wasn't anything they could do once it's set to be returned to the sender. They said they would contact the local Fedex office about not leaving a note.

I told them I would let Sideshow know to ship UPS from now on. Might not be much better, but I had to say it.

Have had also that problem of a package being sent back without leaving a message (even doubt they came to the door...)

Another time a package was completely crushed.
I am not a so difficult person, but next time I will make a complain with the shipping people.

I have posted this before, but just watch how they handle the freight...
Just remember we pay alot for their services.

Don't tell me it was not on purpose!
