Very sorry to hear about you're troubles Sith Lord. Getting a damaged figure that cost ya over $130, I perfectly do understand your point! It should be perfect. But doesn't this pose compensate the trouble a bit? Looks just awesome! Can't wait to get mine! He should be here next week. And he better be 'perfect'!
You're absolutely right. It does compensate a great deal. So does my Robo vs. Terminator shot from my last post.
I'm surprised how well I'm handling it because this was my most wanted figure of the year, how long I had to wait, and how many times it looked like I'd have to give it up due to finances. It does make me appreciate Sideshow more though...half the cost and the screw-ups are much easier to fix (there's no way I can replicate this paint job).
And what a paint job it has!!! I don't know how they did it, but it's superb. Just like the movie.
It's just that I don't think I'll buy very many figures that cost this much in the future. This is the first time I've spent over $100 on a figure, and the cost simply wasn't justified IMO. Especially when I had to cancel Han and Mace to afford Robocop. Time will tell if I keep my USCM Hudson figure on pre-order.
Really, here are all the negatives I see.
1) Careless QC (i.e. - the paint damage that many figures suffered)
2) Lack of ability to do certain film poses (its other poses make this point an easy one to get over)
3) Clamp on stand is way too tight and will leave permanent marks on figure's torso (using Handitak to keep it standing on base instead)
4) The pricepoint vs. actual product.
I know it seems as though I have a lot of complaints about it, but at last, I have my "ultimate" Robocop figure and he has a special place in my collection. I'm happy I have it. Next addition to it will be when McFarlane releases the 3-D "Pop Culture Masterworks" rendition of the theatrical poster.
Forgive the lighting. It's nighttime here, and I was too lazy to turn on my room's main light (just the desk lamp).
