God forbid we get any new designs.....

It messes with established canon. Where are the death troopers, shore troopers etc. in the OT? It starts ruining continuity. That's why films set between two sets of films are destined to suffer, at least in that regard.

We should ask 'em for their scan docs.

I would argue that for a movie series supposedly set across an entire galaxy, one should expect to see different types of armor that you might not see again.

There are way bigger logistical issues to be bugged about in Star Wars if you really want to think about things, like how the Empire was able to take over AND be toppled across an entire galaxy in less than 30 years, or the completely ignored effect of time dilation caused by the relativistic physics of light speed space travel (unless they are harnessing wormholes somehow), or the fact that men seem to outnumber women in that galaxy 50-1.

So yeah, variety of armor is the least of my concerns if I really want to sit and think about these movies. But instead I just let myself enjoy them!

Biker Scouts = ROTJ only. And they were cool. Established canon = lol

I agree, but that's how hey make the money from us. Wouldn't be so bad if they already completed releasing the OT figures we want

Very solid points. Like many fans, I tend to focus on my personal likes and dislikes while (often) arbitrarily letting other stuff slide. I think the larger issue for me is just personal taste -- I have a "less is more" mentality that others don't always share (nor must they).

They can co-exist.

As long as their scan docs are in order. :stormtroo:stormtroo

I don't mean to be a ****, but if I hear 'it messes with established cannon' one more time, I am gonna throw poo.

hell, lucas himself couldn't even keep track of what R2 units were compared to R4 units in the prequels.

Update: well, I woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning! Sorry all......

I guess for myself, I do not mind new designs cause I look at it like this: we never saw Biker Scouts until the 3rd movie. Now, we can assume it was a new design as of that movie, or it was just something we had never seen up until then! Same thing with Rogue One.

Personally, love the idea of new designs, like the Deathtrooper and Shore trooper. Can't help folks if they hate the redesigned Stormtrooper, but from a practical standpoint, I 'get it' stunt people need to move better.....

At least they haven't gone in and added things that make you go "...well if they had that then, why weren't they using it in ESB when...". And hot take alert, I wouldn't mind if they went back and added some of these troopers into the backgrounds of the OT hahahah.

I mean, they're basically 100% sold out everywhere for retail price, and BBTS has even inflated the price 20 bucks over retail to sell the last ones they have, so there must be some demand.

Not really. The Death Troopers in Rogue One were specifically assigned to protect Director Krennic. Obviously they no longer have anybody to protect. And the Shoretroopers are just Stormtroopers wearing specialized armor for a beach environment. Just like Snowtroopers for snow, Sandtroopers for desert, Scout Troopers for scouting on bikes etc. Why would you want a bunch of Shoretroopers designed for beach environments running around on Tatooine or Hoth?

They could have been Scouts minus the black clothing. On a beach, gotta wear lighter colors to keep cool. That's basically what they were.

I don't mind the new troopers, I just think, as I suspect others do too, it was one or two new troops too many (in one movie). Get rid of the tank driver and use the AT-AT driver or something. Even the shore troopers could have just been scouts. At least the designs were good. Hopefully there aren't three new trooper designs in the Ham Solo movie.

I would have maybe preferred mostly repaints with some minor additions.

Thanks for the heads up fellas. No Stormtroopers in the collection and $20 over isn't too bad. Can grab Jedha versions at a Midtown in NYC and Fourth World comics on LI, but rather a regular ol' trooper. Can't wait.
