Is there any documentation around as to the ideas Lucas had as to the transformation of Palpatine? If i can think back I don’t think I ever thought of the Emperor to have a human face. I thought he’d come out of the gates in TPM looking as he did in ROTJ! It was when he looked normal in TPM that I thought “Ok well I guess we find out how Emperor comes to look that way!!

I didn't like the prequel rendition at all.
I envisioned the Emperor very differently.
It's a case of the more the character is given a story it takes away the mystery. And I hated that he was deformed the way he was. I was hoping his deep connection to the dark side of the force deformed him. But ah well.

I always thought the Emperor was just old and had a hard life of drinking and partying while touring with a band. LOL

That makeup was only used for two shoots, they later revised the makeup for the latter half of the film.

think i'm going to have to go flex pay for this like I did with luke which is payed off in 2 weeks …. the royal guard however I will pay straight up for one of those early sept see if I can get it on ebay as cheaper than sideshow with the customs charge added but this its got to be the version with the chair and just can't afford to pay straight out for that yet as got transformers on pre order that need to be payed for too

Yeah, I have many behind the screen pics of the emperor (and others). The thing why I posted this particular photo is to show the back hair, which was discussed a few posts above my own.
We don't know.
Although SS sent an earlier shipping notice, but no videos, in hand pictures or reviews from Hong Kong yet...

Would definitely make sense to put them very close together at minimum.
Is anyone getting the Emperor without guard/s ? I'm expecting "crickets" on this one.......

Everything's been out on preorder for a while; I kind of doubt that the actual release will drive up sales that much. It's not like many are buying these in a store or something.

I always wondered what happened to the two guards after Sheeeeeeeeeeev dismissed them in ROTJ. Did they just stand behind the elevator or did they go get a coffee in the break room? Why didn't they hear Palpatine scream and come back running? Considering the Royal Guards spent very little time guarding anything, displaying Palpatine by himself makes sense and is movie accurate...
Yes. If I had loads of spare cash (and room) I’d love to get a guard or two but my most wanted display option is Luke vs Vader in front of the Emperor on his throne...

No guards for me as well.
None for me either, since the Emperor should already have more than enough shelf presence on his own.
Plus as memorable as they were, I can't see myself buying two figures that will simply be standing at attention in one pose forever.
