I guess the robe is supposed to hang down to the floor or something:

If I had one thing to ask of HT to do for all of their releases is to give us better, full color instruction booklets.

As for the chair, I think I'll get a wooden dowel and paint it black rather than cut up the actual base when he's sitting on it. Since when he's sitting his robes would block it, and then put the base in if he's standing next to it.

Emperor looks like an accessory tray for the Chair.

Why bother to post photos of figure in the box? What's interesting about it? Yey, you've got the figure! Cool, cool ...

Actually, you will appreciate pictures like this if you ever get a "new" figure and its upside-down in the box or something's been moved around and you can see how its supposed to arrive.

They must be ***kidding...they didnt fix the ****** bleeding robe after 2 versions of Anakin and Jedi Luke

Yeah, this bleeding clothes problem seems to be more severe this past year... but its happened on some figures over the years. You won't know which ones until you undress them all. But most figures with white shirts under dark jackets, given time, will be ruined.

This is an idea. Take pics if u do it.

Definitely needed in the collection. I’m happy about what they’ve done...but I’m left feeling a bit unimpressed with what I’ve seen thus far. Something about the sculpt just isn’t a homerun for me in terms of how I perceive the ROTJ Emperor.

I really wish they’d gone with this facial expression.

Looks great, but I would most def want his feet to be touching the ground. Probably a simple 3D print or machine shop type part vs. cutting the base that comes with it. As other have suggested the limiting factor will be the depth of the mating part in the chair, which looks to be pretty deep.

Well since the chair doesn't have a real cushion for a seat, you'll never get an accurate seated position.

Having the figure seated forward, as in that picture above, will get his feet on the ground.

He looks a little **** with that grin if he's just slouched back lazily with his robe open.

Yep, not the easiest of mods, but at least the cut I suggested would be totally hidden. Sanding it flat (perpendicular to the walls) is also not too difficult, especially if you have a disc sander. I'd bet someone will do it once a few more have it in hand.

Rough estimate (because God knows futzing with him in the chair will add and/or change this distance, but just in case anyone is interested):

Base peg thingy:

I’m guessing it’s 1 1/8th inch to be shaved off ...

Is it possible to swap out the figure's ankle pegs for the extended style, like what the Episode IV Han Solo figure uses? If so, this would be an incredibly simple & reversible mod and address the height discrepancy.

making the ankles longer to extend the feet just means you'll see feet dangling out further from under the robes.... is that the look you really want? hahaha it'll be like Sith Lord Urkle... put some kneehigh socks on him and a spinner hat to complete the look

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. For the money paid for a figure like this, it can't be that hard to make a robe that doesn't bleed. Hot Toys knows very well this figure is going to be displayed with the hood ON. It's not like there are scenes of the emperor without his hood up in the OT (except maybe his visit to the hairdresser on Robot Chicken). Sideshow didn't have such a problem.

The sculpt looks great, but this is shameful, in my opinion. Purely shameful.
