Yeah that's kind of how I feel about my Tarkin and Kirk figures. I've tried them in their chairs, but they always look way too stiff in them, and I can get a lot more personality out of them in standing poses.

I'll put the Emperor in his chair occasionally, but it probably won't be my preferred option.

I’m actually the opposite on Kirk. He just looks so right sitting in his chair in my detolf. I agree regarding Tarkin and the Emperor though.

The good thing about Palpy's chair is that it makes for a nice imposing framing/backdrop for the standing figure. The Kirk and Tarkin chairs don't have as much punch - they're more just chairs.

I still feel like Tarkin's chair was included simply to pump up the price - the release would have been 100% fine without it and no one would have complained. And it could have been a simple, $190 figure.

They are yellow. Just not striking yellow.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

They really don’t seem yellow. More of a light brown/hazel.

Yeah, they don't seem yellow to me at all. It's odd because it's one of the key defining attributes of Palpy's look. As I said earlier, without the yellow eyes he starts to look more simply like a very old man (albeit one with a forehead that needs hemorrhoid treatment:lol.) The yellow eyes sell the "supernatural being" aspect.

That being said, I'm not sure at normal display viewing distance you would see the yellow eyes anyway (so not sure they are worth repainting.) The hood shades and envelops the face in a way that makes it harder to see the eye color.

You can see that even in the movie they needed a special tiny spotlight directed on his eyes to make them show up in the way they do.

Yeah, due to how you’d want to put the face in shadow with the emperor, the eyes would probably have to be exaggeratedly yellow for it to show in display, but they should have at least been as yellow as evil Ani.

I - ha-ha-have - a go-go-good - brain.

:D...

Careful with the Simple Jack references - they can get you into a LOT of trouble these days.:lecture:lol I bet Stiller is glad he made that movie nearly ten years ago.

This pic shows a bit of the "large hands" issue with Palps. They're maybe 10-15% too large for the head to me.

It's also interesting that HT decided to do that thick seam up the sleeves - the costume does have a seam in that area, but it only runs from the wrists to the elbow area, not all the way up to the shoulders. That being said, the robe fabric does futz and hold a position reasonably well, even if it reminds me of those fabric bags that new designer sunglasses come in.

The bulkiness around the forearms area (where all the fabric is sewn into bunches) is because HT decided to do an inner lining, which the costume doesn't seem to have had. I wouldn't say that I'd go for a custom robe though, as it really works pretty well overall.

Dave, what does the Vittsjo look like in action ? Not sure if I've seen one of those set up with figures. Does it also have glass all around ?

Got a pic ?

No it's just the shelves that are glass. And I removed the middle bar on mine to allow a bit more space. I've got 7 figures per shelf now, but I could fit in a few more if I needed to. For those who want to keep everything encased and protected from dust it may not be a good option, but I've never been too concerned about that (and never even put the doors on my detolfs). Here are a couple pics:

I was charged for Palps on Friday and he will be delivered to my work the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Friday ... when no one will be in the office. Great!!

Yeah I always seem to have the worst timing with that. I get all my stuff shipped to my work, and it always seems to arrive either on a weekend or when I've got the day off. Lol

I have two HT figures with chairs in my collection. With the Joker I elected for the sitting position as the chair is simplo. For Todd there was no way I wanted to hide all the wonderful details of the chair so i elected the standing pose!

Whats wrong with the forum lately ? I uploaded pics through phone and all of them upside down like this lol.

Tarkin in chair pose looks fine to me, but Emperor Palpatine definitely needs to be in standing pose.

With that raised finger, I can't figure out if Tarkin's gone ISIS Jihadi or Dr. Tarkin is in a PSA promoting frequent prostate checks.:lol

I like the "wings" on that chair, and that Tarkin pointing finger is pretty great for a ton of poses.

Just had the Emperor arrive. Can’t decide if to have him with his force lightening or sitting..got the Royal guards arriving soon too.
