K couple things, my Palps feet almost touch the ground without “slouchingl him.

It takes time and some patience to futz it correctly.

You dont just plop his but in the chair and expect a great look. It took a while to get my Custom Vito Corelone to look correct sitting. Its on of the hardest thing to futz.

Best tip I can give is point the toes downward, he wont touch the ground but it looks alot better....and as Wor pointed out, his feet didn’t touch the ground in the film either.

I made some more adjustments and I think he sits better now. I agree it requires some futz.

I dont think the chair height was never the problem, the massive problem was that hot toys left the cushion plastic therefore he sits super high and above it all like normal i feel, iddk, its my biggest pet peeve really

I think the chair is a little bit oversized. Not 1/6 scale. Maybe 1/5,8 or 1/5,7

Watching all the solutions I guess I will show my Palp standing

I thought the same thing about not using the chair, but after making some adjustments, I have no regret now. I think the chair is the way to go imo.

Don’t get me wrong, HT could have done a better job to make it easier for the figure to sit right

Yes, probably I will try my best to get a perfect sitting Palp. With a Vader + Luke figures is the best solution

That looks great to me. I bet it’s just about perfect at normal viewing distance. It’s the sculpt that really resembles ROTS more than ROTJ.

Its probably that.....

I may do this as well. Mainly because the robe should be pulled down pretty far over the forehead and that really darkens the eye area without lighting.

Brightening up those yellows should help them pop more.....

I dont think it needs much, just like the pic, a little accents will do wonders.

It actually doesn’t need much.

I got the regular version without the throne, and without making any mods, it just takes some minor futzing of the robe to get him looking good in a standing pose. The hood doesn’t really require snipping like TFA Kylo.

I have to say I am not happy about feet dangling in the air like a short child on a chair. I ended up making a wooden pedestal from cherry and purple heart. We should not be making anything to fix a $500 CDN figure though. HT keeps charging a ton so please keep the quality top notch. Force lightning also drooping after first day of display. Head is also so close to top of chair. If you slouch him it looks poor as well also feet still do not reach ground. 1 1/2” off the floor is not good. Had I know this I would have not bought deluxe version.

Great first post!

It's entirely accurate that his feet don't touch the floor. I believe this was a deliberate decision and it doesn't need "fixing". Lowering the chair and making his feet touch the floor makes the throne set up inaccurate to the film.
Fair enough if you just don't like that look, but it would be unfair in this instance to lay blame at hot toys door for trying to emulate the source material correctly.

The Emperor is almost horizontal in that chair during ROTJ, so he should be slouching with the best of 'em! When he is slouched correctly, the gap between his head and the top of the throne is spot on.

As for the lightning.....yeah, I always think those type of accessories really cheapen the look of expensive figures so I don't tend to use them myself, but I agree that they shouldn't bend after a day on display though.

I finally opened mine up last week......ROTJ is my favourite Star Wars film, and the Emperor one of my all time favourite characters and I've got to say, I think Hot Toys knocked this one clean out of the park. I can't find any fault with it. Could've given me a second headsculpt with a serious expression I guess, but I wouldn't have used it as the sneering, smug smile sums up the characters whole personality in that film perfectly.

10/10 for me.

The problem I'm seeing people are having with the throne is the Emperor has to look like he's relaxed but he doesn't have to be slouched that he looks like he's going to slide out of the throne. Also open up his robe it has to create the illusion that he's wearing a heavy robe that when he sit's down gravity is going to cause it to fall to the sides of the throne and push his legs together. His sleeves should be over the arms of the throne.

Yeah that looks great right there. And personally I won't be concerned if the feet aren't perfectly flat on the ground; as long as they're close to it and not hovering an inch above, that'll be good enough for me.
