I just don't get how HT got the Sith eyes on Maul, but with the Emperor, thought that some brown eye look was accurate, and it's not like a factory error, the prototype even had it.

Those eyes rock!!! I bet he looks so much better now in full cloak, glowing eyes under his hood. You have to post a dressed shot.

Mandible, did Pete repaint the entire head or just the eyes? I see some red on the inner lip.

Yeah HT really dropped the ball on the eye paint apps...but i do think that the proto had better/more vivid eye paint than the more muted/dulled down colors of the production piece...

I had a go myself at repainting the eyes...not the best in the world but i'm happy enough with the results..and loving the fig a whole lot more.

Excuse the dotted finger nail...all part of my madness in trying to get the pupils right

The contacts mixed with the right lighting gave him a very crazy look that added to the character, the stock paint lacks that but these repaints nail it.

I also removed all the stock stitching that held the hood in place...i then re-stitched it a little further down on the shoulders to try and give it a more natural look.

The eyes now pop nicely under some overhead lighting...

He painted my Bandai PG Millennium Falcon as well - which is an absolute masterpiece.

Wor - he repainted the whole head, I believe... I don't actually have it back yet - those were his photos. Once I get it I'll take some shots fully dressed as well.

I've thought about doing this with mine too, but I'm still not convinced the eyes will be all that noticeable in a larger display cabinet where I have about ten figures under IKEA top lighting.

I would think in a Detolf (where he's say one of 3-4 figs) with brighter lighting it would be visible, but I keep looking at mine and think "it's 1mm of yellow paint on a fig heavily shadowed with a hood" but maybe I should just give it a go.

I love how it looks in the close-ups in this thread but so many of those pics don't really reflect how a fig actually looks from 3-4 feet away with no magnification amidst many other figs. I'll probably give this a go anyway because it might be fun to do, and also do his lip as well - I think the reddish additions that some have done are almost as important as the eyes.

My OCD killed me though - even if I can't see it, the thought of it irritated me so much I had to get it "fixed." Was the same with the Leia dress.

Things like this really irk me because they should be basic fundamental things they get right - particularly for the price of these "plastic dolls."

At no point was the Emperor's eyes ever "brown" - and at not point was Leia's dress above her ankles... (unless she was lying down in the prison cell)

Some really nice repaints guys.

I repainted mine a while back too. Its not the best, his right eye is a bit wonky. I will fix it when I get some time.

As Talibane mentioned though, it's hard to notice at normal viewing distance and lit from above.
