This charged Tuesday but didn't ship yet, meaning now it won't ship until Monday at the earliest. After the Maul debacle with Sideshow I hope this isn't becoming a pattern.

I can’t believe ROTS was 15 years ago.

Back when I saw it, I couldn’t believe there wasn’t any Commander Cody merchandise or action figures. Despite the small screen time, he seemed like the MAIN clone trooper of the film. Perfect candidate for a toy, especially with the unique armor.

Remember all the horrible 3 3/4 and 12” customs? They were so bad


Then I remember this guy popped up in late 2006 and it was like a godsend at the time.




Toys have come a long way.

Yup. He was so disappointing out of it.

No ball jointed shoulders, no ankle joints, pin head, weird stance, shorter than the other clones. The packaging made the figure. I remember finding the silver foil chase variant at Toys R Us and being so happy.

My favorite is this one, got it at Celebration V from the Hasbro booth,




This Hot Toys figure tempts the hell out of me. Must resist.

Toys have come a long way.

No Cody in the main ROTS toy line but they *did* release fan favorite Mon Mothma who was cut from the film.

I still remember the excitement of finding a Shock Trooper in the wild, lol.

I remember seeing these at a local comic convention along with the Green Clone Commander and Black Clone pilot and thought they were customized fakes. I had no idea that they were actually real. Thought the dude repainted them and marked them up to $75 for nothing.


Wasn’t until I saw them in the wild at retail that I was like “oh, those were real”. Didn’t really look up toys on the internet back then so I had no way of searching or knowing anything outside Toy Fare magazine or Lee’s Toy Review magazine.

Speaking of Lee’s I remember seeing this pic for the “Final ROTS wave” from SDCC 2006 and being super pumped about the 501st Trooper, Bly and Commander Gree.







Then Hasbro did the ole’ bait and switch and the final product for the 501st ended up being that crappy AT-TE Tank Gunner mood with the removable helmet instead of the super articulated #41 trooper. So disappointing. That figure sucked.

Yeah I discovered rebelscum.com* in 2006 and so had to do all the ROTS toy hunting in person on my own (which was both fun and highly annoying, lol.) But then on rebelscum I linked up with a guy in my city willing to part with a carded Republic Commando. We met in the parking lot of a Fred Meyer to do the exchange like it was some sort of drug deal.

*try explaining THAT url coming up in your search history to a wife not familiar with SW ("No honey it's rebel scum, not rebels c---....")

Ah yes, that ****ing Scorch. Another one that took me forever to find.

Cody and Scorch were the big ones from that Saga line. I remember until the “Cody” and Scorch” waves, I had only picked up General Veers and the then new AT-AT Driver. When I saw Cody and Scorch solicited in Toy Fare, I was pumped. I got the original blue holograms and silver foil chasers too, they were so hard to find. Then I remember around the summer time, Hasbro rereleased both of them with the red holograms. Wal-Mart had like dozens of them.

I recently picked up the SS Cody from Darkseed in a local Lowes parking lot. As far as the HT and ST clones I don't see too many differneces . I would say they are about even once you do the compairisons with paint , materials, scuplts and accesories. I plan on gong back and picking up SS Phase I Rex and standard 501st once HT releases theres and the prices drop for the SS versions.
