That Holiday Special Fett is a nice novelty but it's not something I'd be going out of my way to pick up. Ideal as a Con exclusive if that's to be the case.

Yeah, it's more interesting than the gold stormtrooper, copper trooper, porcelain trooper, but still a hard pass. I only need one Fett, and they know that so they're releasing him last.

I've never understood the need to make things like that. But then again I'm obviously not the target market. Even though my first figure was the HT ROTJ Fett I'd be straight out for an ESB version... especially with the SS Bounty Hunters looking so nice.

I'm making a lot of my buying decisions based on nostalgia and my old Kenner fig collection so that red cape and hood are very tempting and as others have said I hope the pricing is kept down for it. I'm new to this but I'm really liking helmeted figures more than humans... maybe down to the facial moulding. Dengar looks to have things spot on though. Maybe that's for another thread.

I'd buy the Holiday Edition Fett to use next to the White Prototype Fett for exactly what you said...Nostalgia. Fett is my favorite character and I'm a sucker for it. But (and to keep this post on topic), I would prefer the Emperor and Royal Guards first! :)

I like helmeted figures but they don't retain their interest for me like the very best Star Wars 'human' figures - Jnix/ HT Han, DX07 Luke, ANH Leia, Obi-Wan.

Man that Palps look sweet the more i look at it. The slouch, the narrow shoulders, and weight on the cane give a perfect ominous posture. A must have!

Yeah, I was in the "my SS emperor will do me fine" camp until I saw that pic. :lol

Palps is the only guaranteed HT purchase from me at the moment.

HS Fett is a good probability too though, like others have said he would look cool with the other three Fett's on the shelf. Plus he's technically the first appearance version of the character & nostalgia is huge driving factor with these figures for me at least.

Everyone's always fine with their SS... until they see the HT version.

I've given in to the fact that not one SS Star Wars figure I have will survive the HT replacement. Except the ones HT will never make. Like Hammerhead.

My SS Old Ben survived... but not without significant modifications. :lecture

I too thought, and still do, that the SS Ben sculpt is a better likeness... but I went ahead for consistency and got the HT Ben.

Then I thought Yoda could survive... but no. I thought the Snowtrooper could survive... but alas no. I think my Emperor is fine... but I see the HT and think I need it.

Is there no end...?

I'm in that boat right now. My only SS figure left is R2 which will eventually be replaced.

I'm having trouble justifying replacing R2. He is pretty good as he is. Sound effecrs and metallic dome are a plus I guess.
