It's the same with the Lego waves of sets. There's an occasional PT set amongst all the OT, ST, RO, Rebels and various other original licenses.
It's still around and it still has fans but it's quite far down the pecking order.

These are toys that have 'pocket money' price tags for easy pick up never mind the £200 per figure collector's items that are HT and SSC. Disney have their own avenues of revenue such as RO and the sequels while the OT will always be the cash cow that keeps on giving.

On that note... Given Rebels close association with the OT and even having the Ghost make an appearance in RO as well as Hera Syndulla's name being called over the Yavin tannoy system does anyone think there's any possibility of those characters being given the 1/6 treatment or is it safe to assume the people that most associate with those characters are way off the higher disposable income needed for 1/6 collectibles? i.e. Kids.

I would be down for an Ahsoka and the Twylek girl from the cartoons if they did them realistically and not the cartoony/3A style. I thought with the Cad Bane in disguise SSC might walk down that path but they never even followed up with a proper Cad figure.

Around the time Disney acquired Lucasfilm and declared the EU no longer canon, there was a general hold ordered on the PT as well. Their overall directive was a focus on the OT and ST.

But it's already been a few years since then, and I believe they've since relaxed their rules on the PT. It certainly won't be a huge focus in the entire Star Wars saga as a whole, but we're not completely pretending it didn't exist, either. And while I'm not the biggest fan of the PT, despite all its faults, I now have some strange nostalgia for it. Well, some of it.

I have no confirmation on this - just speculation based on the sort of merchandise and media we have now. For example, we've had an Anakin/Obi-Wan comic series, and the new Darth Vader series takes place right during the end of RotJ. There are references to the PT/TCW era throughout the new canon material. We see a bit more PT LEGO sets and figures. We're also getting clones, droids, Maul, and other PT characters, vehicles, and settings in Battlefront II. Padme also makes an appearance in the new Forces of Destiny trailer.

TCW has never been off the table, with characters, vehicles, etc. appearing in Rebels and other media, so the PT era lives on there as well.

I think a nice indicator of where they stand now might be Hasbro's The Vintage Collection lineup when it returns next year, and the balance of OT, PT, ST, anthology, comic book, video game, etc. characters we see there.

Apparently Figuarts never got the message, they've had a nice steady stream of great-looking PT figures since their line started.

This was never about the world of toys. I said HT.

But it extends to other companies too. Sideshow suddenly stopped all the clones when Disney took over (though they did do Maul and have since done Jango and Maul in PF). As far as Hot Toys goes, they've been trotting out that ROTS 1/4 Vader for a while, but that line has seriously stalled and it might be an Empire Vader by the time it's actually released.

Sean Dabbs and GeeWhiz have an Ahsoka custom underway. Check the interest threads.

I too was hoping that a proper Cad Bane was right around the corner with Sideshow.

But then I also wanted Hondo and Ziro the Hutt.

If i was a betting man, i'd say at least an Anakin Skywalker that will probably be in some kind of flashback in TLJ. Anything in the movie, even if a flashback, will be free game for a figure.

I suspect you will see a few HT prequel figures before too long...;)

A few prequel figures, not just one. I know Anakin has been talked about, but have there been any hints at anymore? I'd also be interested in Jango and perhaps even ROTS Darth Vader. It's my least favorite suit but I still like it.

Yes, I'm down for a HT Darth Maul as well. The SS looks really good too, but I may wait and see if HT gets to him.

HT Darth Maul would be great, with cloak of course and a normal 1/6 scale body, not the mini-me Naboo version.

He just looks very small scale-wise next to all of my other figures. Head too. Great figure but hard to display with others for me.
