That's contrary to what Sideshow have publicly announced, so if you have some scanned contracts to refute their statements, send them up. ;)

Spoken to CEOs of other collectible companies and told me. It helps when you go the conventions these companies show at. Wouldn't you think they'd make it a big deal like HT did when the announced it? Very few companies have the license since Disney took over. The companies who already had SW license have it for OT and PT. With the new films moving forward, it's difficult to know who has what.

I agree, however, things may get more interesting when TFA figures start to be previewed. At least we'll get an indication of how co-ordinated their releases actually are!

Yeah, looking forward to seeing how Sideshow and HT will release TFA figures together. There's no way they can both release humans, even if SS do the troopers they will be playing second fiddle after Hot Toys amazing Stormies? Can't see it working out myself.

It was interesting that at CVII there was a panel for "High End Collectibles" of which Tamashii, eFx, Sideshow and Gentle Giant were present. I was suprised HT wasn't part of that panel.

That may change in the future, but at this point it feels like they are not considered to be as big of a player. That or they opted not to participate, but that seems unlikely given that Howard Chan was at CVII.

Anyway, my point with all of that is it will be interesting to see how licensing for Ep VII washes out. At this point I'd almost assume Sideshow would be at the top of the pecking order, but I'd certainly be more interested to see what HT could do. Not to mention the costs are now the same between the two companies... so with cost eliminated make mine HT :lecture

That is odd, Howard seems proud as a new father with this license. Very odd that he was there and not participating. :cuckoo:

Oh, and that trooper is ****ing phenomenal, would kill to see these shipped as two figures with variant sand weathering. Why not, they did a tall and short trooper? This would be an easy, EASY money grab.

There might be a lot of reasons... but it was odd that they were not there with a number of products announced and some out. When Tamashii was with less and lower-end :lol

I'm with you, but your gonna get trouble for saying that Gboy! :rock

Again I don't see SS releasing any TFA figures at all. But if they do, I'd be more than happy eat my foot. But don't plan on it. HT is king of 1/6 TFA.

SS doesn't have the TFA license. Only Anovos and HT do, other than Hasbro of course.

This is correct as of about a month ago, SS and EFX do NOT have a the TFA license. DarthAlias is correct that anovos and HT are the only two players in the game right now for high end stuff. Things may change but that was where it was a few weeks back.

Obviously bought.

What I'm really curious about is the other two and if they'll do the different backpacks. I'm thinking they probably will.

Wait...2016? Somebody wake me when that rolls around. :sleep

Could be that they will do different backpacks and weathering. Otherwise it seems easier to do multiple pauldrons and sell alot of this particular figure for squad building.

Wow, that's very interesting indeed.

Jack, out of curiosity, how many TFA HT figures are you aware of? :)

That sounds more logical.

Thank you sir for your validity. Not sure why so many questioned it. Makes sense from what we're seeing from the hype the companies that do have the license are doing. Pack it up SS.

People are strange man. Glad I could back you up, your info came from other sources, where mine came from my source at Disney. They are both saying the same thing.

I don't have a number, just saw a lot of drawings. I do believe the stormtrooper will be the first TFA figure HT shows.

The movies will have to be pretty good for me to be tempted to go deep on TFA figures. Not thrilled by the stormtrooper but several of the character designs look bad ass. If SS focuses solely on OT, that's actually good for me too.
