Re: Hot Toys Sandtrooper

So coupons can work on pre orders?? 'm trying to use one for the sideshow Scout trooper and the coupon wont work :(

The regular monthly $20 off codes work on pre-orders that have been up for a few months. I used one on the scout trooper last December.

Absolutely agreed. No idea why the actual specs thread was merged/deleted.

There actually was an official thread and it was deleted?! FS lads. What kind of sense does it make to not have the official pics and specs in the first post? How is anyone supposed to know what page they're on now?

I can't imagine how they could replicate reptile skin with seamless articulation. Closest they could get is something Hulk-like with a bunch of seams and joints all over the place. It would look like garbage even at $600.

Some people don't seem to care about ugly exposed joints all over the place. They buy to figures to actually play with them so as long as they can play with it they prefer a ugly jointed figure instead of a great looking one.

Interestingly, on the Asmus horses thread people wanted a fixed horse instead of an articulated figure. :lol

Eh, for you poor LOTR sods perhaps - not for us cool ROTLA fans. Indy's saddle strap will cover the most obvious neck joint. Can't wait to get him into all kinds of action poses - and... these horses actually STAND..:yess:

The Dewback's legs are only really viewed from the side (i.e. as if viewing Hulk from the side, making the shoulder joint invisible) so only the ankle joints would be a visibility issue. The Dewback feet/ankles are also much thinner than the fat Hulk feet/ankles, so would make them a little less prominent.

The Hulk is actually an interesting example as the scale of the arms and torso are sort of close in scale to the Dewback's legs and body. Honestly, even if the HT Dewback came out as good as Hulk I'd be really happy with it. The Hulk joints are certainly visible, but to me they don't detract all that much - and I'd prefer that over a static statue.

Ordered! Probably should of waited for a sale. I imagine all the SW figures will be over produced and be on sale at some point.

where you get these coupons from?? I would love 20 off the scout (planning on getting him, he looks damn good)

I dig the articulation on the horse, just bummed it wasn't engineered to be able to stand up on its own too well. I can't see the point of an articulated Dewback though.

The newest horse apparently does.

I just want the ability to make the Dewback look like it's walking or standing and move the head back and forth a bit - a few different display options to mix it up, nothing too major. And having a Dewback that's not made out of portland cement shaped around a lead ingot would be a plus too.

SSC's Dewback will still look great in 50 years. I'd like to see Hulk or a rubber Dewie in 10. Not to mention bending it any which way would result in unrealistic folds (and also stress the rubber, causing it to crack sooner). It's just impractical and pointless, IMO.
