SSC's Dewback will still look great in 50 years. I'd like to see Hulk or a rubber Dewie in 10. Not to mention bending it any which way would result in unrealistic folds (and also stress the rubber, causing it to crack sooner). It's just impractical and pointless, IMO.

Will look great in 50 years unless dropped from a height of 1 foot between now and then.:lol A 1/6 Hulk statue might have been great for the grandkids in a few decades, but in some ways what they did is nearly as bold as a 1/6 furred Chewy.

A rotocast Dewback like SSC Jabba might have provided some limited articulation without resorting to rubber skin (and solved the weight issue, but then you'd get the "it's not heavy so it's cheap!" thing.) The 1/6 Wolfman figure had some pretty great hidden ball joints in a 100% roto figure. I'm using some of those joints for my 1/6 Hasbro Taun reboot and they are amazing. And the level of detail on roto continues to improve.

Hmm... might be a pass. My ANH display shelf will be to full. Vader, two stormies, Luke, Leia, Han, Chewy, R2, C-3PO, Ben, maybe some jawas with R5...

Will have to wait and see.

Re: Budget Stark - "First Look" Sandtrooper prototype on display at Secret Base

Another spam-a-thon slideshow:clap

Yup it's started to get tough to cut ones out. I'm definitely in for 1 of this guy, but the spacetrooper might get the axe. Same goes for any doubles.

You gotta get this guy! But I agree, my shelves are getting full. I don't know which figs to part with

Re: Budget Stark - "First Look" Sandtrooper prototype on display at Secret Base

Looks great!
Maybe some star wars soundtrack next time?
Otherwise thanks again for the new vid!

Re: Budget Stark - "First Look" Sandtrooper prototype on display at Secret Base

Ugh, hopefully we can keep the "DC"-like comments limited to that. Majority of us like how the videos are posted and appreciate Anthony's efforts, so just move on in silence or talk to Dave if you don't like it.

Re: Budget Stark - "First Look" Sandtrooper prototype on display at Secret Base

Thanks for the video :)

No doubts about it, I must have this!

Re: Budget Stark - "First Look" Sandtrooper prototype on display at Secret Base

Looks great, just ordered this.

What's the problem?

Incessant spamming with a new thread created every time a slideshow is ready.

Spacetrooper was an easy pass, looked great, just no interest in it. I think the next trooper I would be getting would be two or three snow troopers, that is if HT makes them.

I probably will end up getting it. Might just keep it in the box until Hot Toys start making more Tatooine based figures like Boba, Jabba, Tusken Raider, would make for a cool villains shelf.

Incessant spamming with a new thread created every time a slideshow is ready.

so not actually spamming.. just a thread post for each new release, allowing collectors to see the latest figure / prototypes etc as soon as they launch at Secret Base.. I like Budget Stark's vids and I have absolutely zero problem with them getting a thread to alert me to the new figure / prototype release.

However, in the interests of balance.. I dislike incessant spam threads about figures that don't exist yet, created because the thread starter wants to have the 'kudos' of having started the thread if/when a figure is announced twelve months from now.. yet 'Vaporware' thread spamming doesn't attract the level of whining Budget Stark does, go figure.

Perhaps some of the comments about Budget Stark videos, relate rather more to issues a few people apparently have with Anthony, rather than the content of his threads...
:dunno

If that is the case, those individuals should jog on.. no-one is forcing them to watch Budget Stark videos.
