We did it guys! Hot Toys clearly reads this thread and took our complaints to heart. Pats on the back all around.

Seriously though, now watch this go the way of Poe and never even see release, lol. And really, my eyes roll so far back into my head whenever someone posts a snarky, self-important comment about the rest of us expressing their complaints about a figure. Like, it is fine if you do not have any sort of critical eye, but a lot of us do. This second prototype clearly shows that even Hot Toys knew the version we were all complaining about was not great either.

Luckily I still have these in my spare box :lol

Though he only seems to put those on when he changes into his fatigues.

While in the flight suit the three horizontal light coloured bands of the boots he wore on Hoth are visible:

The HT boots don't look overly large, but he looks like he has leg padding to fill out the suit, which also bulks out the boots.

While as a general rule I don't trust Hot Toys to deliver, Poe is not anywhere near in the same league as this flagship character.

People can complain all they want, but over-reacting to rough prototypes has a long and storied tradition on these boards. :lol

Seems like a different boots. The Hoth one looks like its made out of suede material. While the dagobah ones looks like smooth leather.

They're wet from the swamp in that still. It's the only time you get to see them clearly, as earlier shots are too dark.

The difference between the first and the second proto only makes it clear how on point the criticism was.

Man I can't get over how amazing this looks! One thing I noticed though is that they forgot to put his lightsaber on his belt...which makes the whole thing literally unusable so I'm pre-cancelling my pre-order.

If we?re not allowed to talk about what is presented, what are these forums for?

LOL Of course people are free to discuss, criticize and outright roast. That?s EXACTLY what these forums are for and what makes them fun.

I said there?s a long history of over-reacting to prototypes and I?d be genuinely surprised if anyone honestly, truly thought HT was going to slap that proto in a box and ship it to us.

I see your point about discussing what?s presented; but there was an air of finality about a number of the criticisms that I either misread (possible) or actually discounted that they?ll improve it. Hence my reference to the venerable SSF tradition.

Further to this, I've gone back to the 4K screencaps.

If you follow this sequence, you can see the light coloured strap at the top of his right boot just above the water. His left boot is pressed against the muddy bank:

Here you can see the three light straps on the right boot, but only the top one on the left, presumably because they're covered in mud:

Here you can see on the right boot that the light straps extend around the sides as on the Hoth boots:

However, in this behind the scenes shot, he looks like he's wearing the later type of boot without the light coloured straps:

As TaliBane noted, there's quite a bit of variation in the costuming through the film, and it looks like it wasn't consistent scene to scene.

There are basically three looks for the jacket (fat, medium and thin) and four distinct looks for the boots (two for the grey/biege/white straps - fat and thin, and two for the thinner more Bespin style boots - pale/white and dark/tan.) The **** arrival boots are similar to the later Bespin boots. The only places where the really fat boots appear is where Hamill was in real snow.

If you?re going to post reference photos like that we demand red circles!

I see him as the Hoth post crashed Snowspeeder Luke with AT-AT harpoon and snow base.

For me the analysis can stop at that point, and I'll save myself some time and effort.

But you guys feel free to keep analysing boot thickness at different places in the film :lol

Yeah, but it looks like they are rather shiny from the reflection there. I guess I?m just gonna slap on the dx07 boots on him. Hoping that he comes with regular hands too, and the sleeves are long enough to cover the wrists for ungloved looks. As the dagobah landing is One of my favorite scenes from ESB.

Anyone aware of previous prototype photos vs. the actual release?
