Sorry. There seems to be discussion as to whether the prototype will evolve by the time it is eventually released, so I was wondering if there were instances in the past where HT displays a prototype that ends up looking different when it is eventually released.

Pretty often. Sometimes better, occasionally worse.

Was hoping for this expression

To be honest Ton Ton I wouldn't be surprised if they used this pic at least for the weathering.

He looks pretty dirty there.

Fun fact, this pic was taken the morning after a huge night out at Echo Base and waking up next to that sleezy female Wampa......Expression = "Did that really happen" ???

:1-1:

you have been lucky you did not get the Sideshow Luke after all!

Trust me. I wanted it bad but couldn?t manage the funds at the time thinking ?oh it won?t sell out. I?ll be fine. I don?t need to preorder.? I?ve been kicking myself in the backside ever since I missed out on it so this is the best collecting news I?ve had in a while. Plus I couldn?t justify the after market price. I can?t wait to have this one on my shelf.

The new pics looks pretty darned nice and given the SS is one of the best looking figures on my shelf I have high hopes here. But.... That face just looks all wrong. The sideways glance and open mouth just don't suit this figure at all. I really hope that's not final. Otherwise I'm really happy with it.

Yea Jedi head sculpt under the helmet needs to change but it won't stop me from purchasing it should it remain. Since HT is dipping into Clone Wars, I'm hoping a matter of time before we see Phase II Echo and Fives

Facial expression won?t matter because he will have his visor down sitting in his 1/6 snow speeder along with Dak.

Luckily I still have these in my spare box :lol

Yeah, there are so many versions of the boots it gets a bit maddening.

In general, the fat grey/beige/white straps is for crashed speeder and watching the Falcon leave (ie real snow,) the thinner grey/beige/white straps is for the ATAT attack (studio,) the dusted-white Bespin style is for Hoth base/leaping into snowpseeder, and for Dagobah arrival it's a combo of various elements centered on the Bespin style - sometimes its dusted-white, sometimes dirty, sometimes dirty with the weathering thinned due to being wet so showing pale straps.

I think the idea was that a single set of boots started out as grey/beige/white at the start of the movie then were very grimy after Dagobah and ending up on Bespin but it comes across as two different types of boots because there are quite clean looking Bespin style boots. It really doesn't make sense.

While as a general rule I don't trust Hot Toys to deliver, Poe is not anywhere near in the same league as this flagship character.

People can complain all they want, but over-reacting to rough prototypes has a long and storied tradition on these boards. :lol

LOL Of course people are free to discuss, criticize and outright roast. That?s EXACTLY what these forums are for and what makes them fun.

I said there?s a long history of over-reacting to prototypes and I?d be genuinely surprised if anyone honestly, truly thought HT was going to slap that proto in a box and ship it to us.

I see your point about discussing what?s presented; but there was an air of finality about a number of the criticisms that I either misread (possible) or actually discounted that they?ll improve it. Hence my reference to the venerable SSF tradition.

I don't recall any rough HT prototypes, at least to the degree the first Luke was. And I don't even recall a lackluster/meh HT prototype turning out to be a stellar production figure. I've seen a few of the reverse - HT farmboy Luke head proto was better than the production version.

This situation is actually unique - in ten years of being into 1/6 I've never seen a wonky proto suddenly be swapped out for a significantly better proto (with several key new elements) within a day or so. It's unprecedented.

So I'm really not sure where this "told you so" vibe is coming from.:dunno

I don't get it either. The prototypes are supposed to get you excited, and the original prototype looked like a piece of **** so obviously it's going to be criticised. How was anybody to know that Hot Toys had another prototype which appears to be a completely different figure?

Yup this is crazy what just took place.
