I work in film & television (this latest career is relatively recent not counting my prior forays in independent film, but my background is mostly design) -- primary trade is Set Dec, but I do Props and Greens as well. Some days I iron drapes, others I create murder scenes ... and I move a lot of pianos

So what are those cartridges around his leg? Some kind of ammunition for his blaster?

They're usually referred to as flares.

Flare cartridges out of universe, and probably in-universe too.

Came out better than I pictured..however seems to be a true decision piece to collect IMO since there is a lack of the snowspeeder or x wing

I'm wondering, is this headsculpt a tad more detailed than the ROTJ Luke sculpt?

I get that it's the same sculpt but it looks potentially crisper from that MrCollection review. I was thinking about maybe, if it's going to be covered by the Helmet anyway, using this figures sculpt for the ROTJ Luke to give it a slight upgrade.

That is, if it is improved and I'm not crazy.

As much as I would love to get that Snowspeeder for this figure, it is massive and I already have too many oversized pieces. Someone mentioned a few posts back about a sunken X-wing for this figure to stand on with a swamp background. That is the look I think I would like to create

Thats what I will be doing. I figure the eyes looking forward work better for the rotj version (I have the endor one) and the eyes looking to the side really work for the eerie dagobah look with the blaster on his right side

Probably just a borrowed ROTJ sculpt for the display. Makes no sense with the helmet and visor imo.

I'm trying to figure out how hard it'd be to convert to ANH/ROTJ pilot and if it'd be worth to get as a base for customs

I have the SS X-wing pilot standing opposite a Tie Fighter pilot. Excellent figures both. You'd think Hot Toys would do an X-Wing pilot now they've done this guy. Another good one to go with an R2 as well.

Maybe after Bespin Luke and before Hoth Luke. After that con exclusive Dagobah training Luke, which should have been an optional deluxe version of the incoming Bespin Luke. Then they can finally do farm boy Luke 2.0 with a better sculpt. By that time Queen will have the 1/6 figure price at $600.

Too true. Either way unless there was a nexus event and they did decide to do him, I'd need an amazing sculpt or something to replace the SS figure. He does the job pretty well.
