Just think how much better a commander will look commanding two snowies rather than one.

I was actually thinking of that. He can order two guys to go and peel space potatoes, and it'll only take them half the time and effort. :lol

They don't call it the Galactic Empire of Efficiency for nothing!

The SSC has a two-piece boot design that gets around the limitations of a molded boot-top. Currently it looks like the HT does not, which would reflect their trend for great-looking figures with compromised articulation. Everything else looks great; no time to look at reference photos but I think the belt and codpiece could be nitpicked.

Up on BBTS

Single

Deluxe

2-Pack

As much as I'd love to get the 2-pack and then add the commander, I just don't have the space for 3 snowtroopers and would rather spend that money on other figures. I'm 100% in for the single ESB Snowtrooper though, since it's my favorite OT trooper design.

I had forgotten that the SSC boots had the two-piece thing as it was so well hidden (until I moved it to take the pic) - so it's possible the HT boots have it too, but hidden. The HT boot sculpt looks a bit plasticky to me, but maybe with production weathering they'll look more real.

So the face skirt can be adjusted and played with to the owners liking? Curious how it will fold and crease in 16 scale as opposed to a predetermined mold (shape)

For those with the SSC who are looking to upgrade a few parts from the HT like helmet, I took another pic that's a closer match to the HT pose. This is 100% unmodded SSC snowie.

I didn't notice this until the side by side, but look how on the SSC the hip pouches strap goes through the ab plate?

looking at stills, it seems they took artistic liberty to incorporate that...

The Sideshow holds up pretty well, apart from the eyes and the chewing gum mask. And the gloves, which have quite bulky armour. And now that it's mentioned the abdomen section is quite off-putting.

Everything else looks good, but the HT looks better - crisper, more tailored.

It's amazing how something better can make something you took for granted so much worse.

I still like the Sideshow, direct comparisons like this of course makes me a bit less fond of it but still mod the helmet/facemask and replace the next to useless body and it will work fine displayed with a couple of HT's. Hell there was someone here who had a tweaked Hasbro Snowtrooper manning the E-web and that worked just fine.

Hopefully Mammon willing I can get the two pack for a total of four Snowtroopers for the soon to come HT commander to boss around.

It's all relative of course.

There was a time when I would go to Toys R Us and stock up on the latest Star Wars releases. At home I would take my £19.99 12" figure out of the box and put it in the display cabinet.

Then Sideshow came along and showed just how bad a lot of those figures were.

Then Sideshow improved and HT joined in, and showed just how bad a lot of those early Sideshows were.

It's a never ending quest for perfection and obsolescence. :lol

I know it's been asked but I don't want to scroll through 400 posts, the 2 pack is from battlefront, the standalone is from ESB? I would have preferred a 2 pack of each. Thanks in advance.

I think I would rather have an SS and an HT Snowie than have two exactly-the-same HT Snowies.

Same here. Keeping my SSC and getting a HT too

I'm not a blaster expert, but something looks off about those E-11s? Anyone else think so?

The rail does make them look odd.

I went through all the screencaps here, and couldn't see any Snowtroopers brandishing E-11s with the rail (nor any DLT-20As).

for the e-11, I think what was already mentioned makes sense, without the hengstler (sp?) counter on the side the rail is more visible, but really we just need for E-11 expert JKNO to come in and tell us what is what ;)

It's nice to get this variation without the counter though, as technically the E-11 had many looks, one of which is without the counter.

Looking at my figures it seems every HT (and probably Sideshow) E-11 has that rail. It just becomes more noticeable on the Snowtrooper because of the missing counter.

The scope rail on HT E-11 blaster is raised too much. SSC version is more accurate. From what I see HT removed the Hengstler counter on the Snowie blaster, but kept the cylinders.

HT could have used this version too (known as the stunt "Pugman", seen in promo shots with Leia, and also in ROTJ), but I guess that would have meant a new sculpt maybe:

HT used the bare bones Sterling version with their interpretation of a hybrid M19/M38 scope, same sculpt like the one before but without Hengstler box and with cylinders:

That top B&W one with them all standing around looks like they just watched their buddies get blasted by the Flacon belly guns and Vader storm into the hangar and they are all like "I don't want to go down there man, you know how he is when S#!% goes wrong..."

I passed on the SS version only because my money went to finish the OT line up. I think SS gets a bad reputation. I think their snowtrooper looks pretty solid. I love my SS Taun-Taun with Hoth Solo on him. I also have both HT Vader and SS. SS is still my center piece only cause I had it first and while HT Vader is great I still haven't switched it out.

I agreed with you at first until Jkno posted those pics. You can quite clearly see in the top picture second in from the left that the belt does indeed go through the ab plate. Sideshow got that spot on. I can't see wether the HT version does the same but credit to sideshow for that.
