In for the regular ESB version once I can use a coupon or see a good deal, probably well after release. Lesson has been learned that the Star Wars troopers are basically evergreen, always stocked figures for HT.

Now bring on the commander!

I think I'm just going to order the single version from The Empire Strikes Back. I want at least one for my collection and while the two pack is a good deal I'd rather stick with movie figures only. If there's a Snowtrooper Commander made later I'll get that too and call it good for this Trooper type. Like others I sort of wish they had just made the two pack from the movie and done the video game version separately or done two types of two packs.

The two pack is essentially two ESB troopers, but with additional parts to convert one to a Battlefront trooper.

But, still the most curious thing for me is that one is intended to use a flight stand regardless of the pack he's wearing.

That's true. I guess it's more of an OCD thing knowing that it's part of the VMS line over the normal MMS line. Plus I do wish the second stand could be regular rather than flight stand only like it appears. I'd never have them in a flying pose.

Yeah, they really should include a short pole for the stand.

I probably won't use the stands anyway, I have two stands from the SS Hoth figures I will use.

I'm a little disappointed that the two pack wasn't snowie and commander because then I could have convinced myself to buy both as it is I will be getting the commander and sticking with my ssc one. But can't deny that the hat helmet is really nice.

I think I may go with one ESB Snowy and the commander when it comes out. Just really hard to pass up the deal on the 2 pack.

I agreed with you at first until Jkno posted those pics. You can quite clearly see in the top picture second in from the left that the belt does indeed go through the ab plate. Sideshow got that spot on. I can't see wether the HT version does the same but credit to sideshow for that.

I also saw that!

Thank Jkno for blessing us with his knowledge.... :lecture

I wonder if it was some troops, or if there were variations... SSC did seem to get that right though. I did notice that SSC ab plate is straight, where HT curves. The curve seems to be accurate, I too wonder if they have the strap system correct and we just can't tell from photos.

you can just about see it, under the forward facing snowie you see the strap going into the ab, and on the side of the away facing snowie you can see the strap going around the waist... it's there

I can't see the any curve on the ab plate in this pic? Personally I think the SS ab plate sculpt is more accurate than the HT version.

The Hot Toys ab armour is upside down. The bottom edge should be flat, with the curved or peaked portion on top. It's just assembled wrong in the photos. It's a common problem with cosplayers and the touring costume from Lucasfilms.

I didn't notice this until the side by side, but look how on the SSC the hip pouches strap goes through the ab plate?

looking at stills, it seems they took artistic liberty to incorporate that...

Yeah, through the belt thru ab plate is indeed correct, but also, the ab plate is not symmetrical (it is flat on one side, angled/ curved on the other.) In the comp pics I posted, the SSC has the flat part at the bottom and the HT has it at the top. Both are screen accurate - it was worn both ways, but I think the way the SSC has it is "correct" as the angled/curved part is supposed to mesh in with the chest armor (which has a little "bite" to accept it) and the codpiece below is flat.

And now that it's mentioned the abdomen section is quite off-putting.

The HT has the silver "button" on the ab armor a little oversized compared to the costume and the SSC is either about right or a touch undersized.

Same here. Keeping my SSC and getting a HT too

I always love attending class at the jkno school - I nearly always see pics I've never seen before (I love that closer angle showing the Snowie blaster so clearly.):clap

They haven't PO'ed the Commander yet - seems like a no-brainer that they'll do a two pack.

Even though... the Commander and reg Snowie are never actually seen together.:lol

Not sure if i want to jump on the 2-pack because of the great price or just get the ESB and wait for the Commander. Decisions...

Yeah I agree. I keep going back and forth on the regular or the two pack. The discount on the second figure makes it seem worth it.

What always bothered me, was that for ESB , Lucas created the Snowtrooper, he fit the environment he was fighting in. In ROTJ, its almost as if there was a lapse in creativity, here were the regular Stormtroopers fighting in forest. I wish they had created a Forestrooper or something, you know?

Agreed. But at the same time, the ewoks were suppose to be wookies. Both problems solved in ep.3 Hahaha
