This is very WWIIish looking. With the hood up he could look really awesome. A small tube of black elastic fabric can fix the neck if they never release a normal one either.

I thought the same thing the more I looked at the mudtrooper armor. It’s like a sort of steampunk nazi design.

If I don't PO this waiting for the plain trooper they won't make the officer variant. If I do PO they will come out with 2 other versions the next day like they did with the Deathtrooper specialist.

Likely wherever you order from (SS, BBTS, AE, TW, etc) will understand if you want to swap your NRD (if there is one) to another version of the same figure, especially if its revealed only days or a few weeks from this one.

I wouldn't hesitate to get one locked down.

Then hurry up and order, I'd like to see what else they have to offer :lol

Why? This has NRD attached at BBTS and Sideshow = not selling out anytime soon. Will still be up for grabs next year around the time it drops. I will be buying eventually though, just didn't place my usual BBTS order because of nrd and the ridiculous long wait.

I agree this guy most likely will not sell out. I believe if the PO’s tally up then that’ll be HT’s indication to put out others out from this line. Showing them a sign of collectors interest in more Solo movie figures and maybe even have them up their effort in quality and accuracy. Example Chewie’s half ass attempt. Steal some of the energy they’re putting into all the Marvel stuff.

Yep, totally agree with this.

I'm actually very surprised they made this, I figured we'd be up for a "white jacket" Han before an Imperial variation. Given we probably won't get Chewbacca and/or Lando, it makes passing on the standard Han better and I hit two birds with one stone. Definitely ordered.

Could very well be correct. This might linger for a year. It's happened more often than not.

But HT will at some point by months end take its tally of the preorders and plan its run based on interest. Regardless of how long this lingers as a PO, I imagine the presumed lack of POs will inform HT to make a small edition size on these.

The point was, if you want it, preorder it so HT sees the actual interest and perhaps releases other variants or figures.

No POs = death of line.

And there are plenty of places with no NRD. I myself ordered from one.

Fair enough. But to be honest I kind of want the Solo line to die. I figure that with marvel and other licenses HT is into, there will only be so many Star Wars releases done each year. So Solo potentially steals from OT or at the very least delays it. And my money is best spent on OT stuff, but I can and have been persuaded by other Star Wars releases out of boredom, coolness, or a combination of both with a sale price.

Where is that Death Star Trooper again...

The death of any Star Wars line hurts the potential for all Star Wars lines and funnels HT's attention to those other franchises you mention. Those are the ones you want to fail so they can look over at Star Wars and think, that's where we need to put our efforts.

There's like a year and a half until the next SW episode. They can reveal in a month and take a year until release and they'll still have plenty of time before the next movie hits. Them getting on some Solo stuff shouldn't be a problem or hinder other productions. Marvel is a bigger thing to slow productions down since there's so many for them to do and none of them are generic troopers that don't need painted headsculpts.

I understand your point of view, but I don't really feel that merch failure of TLJ or Solo will have much effect on future OT Star Wars offerings from HT. Everyone knows the OT stuff sells. I would hope they understand the difference. When they circled back and did Tarkin it gave me hope that this is the case.

I really like the design, but "mudtrooper" must a new low in the trooper naming stakes. We go through this every time one of these names comes up (eg shoretrooper) but like there's a special trooper for mud? What happens when rain ends and everything dries out - do they withdraw and let the Dirt-troopers take over? Maybe it's meant to be a sarcastic trooper-slang kind of thing, calling themselves mudtroopers.

It's also a bit odd that an outfit called a mudtrooper is 3/4s the same as an outfit worn by Veers, a supreme commander of the whole invasion force a few years later.

Yeah, OT is "classic" - it's like saying TPM merchandise not selling says to hasbro that no one wants OT Luke/Han/leia.

This does look like a really cool Trooper variant. Fits in well to the OT.
I like that with the goggles and respirator on it starts to look like a proto Stormtrooper helmet.

And its got a lot of "Veers" style to it also. Maybe Veers likes to wear his old armor into battle.

Now Veers gets his own movie. He miraculously survives life as a Mudtrooper and through sheer grit and determination grinds his way to rank of general.....Or maybe he does what Don Draper does. Survives an explosion as a peon and steals the identity of his dead commanding officer.

Either way, give us Veers HT!
