Longest I can think of was T-800, preorders were late December early January and he shipped in May.

March is a good guess i think. 1st qtr sounds reasonable, but won't be surprised if it's later.

I can't think of any Hot Toys figure that's taken more than 6 months to come out over the past few years of releases. Average lately is 3-4 months for traditional figures.

Yep every single figure i can think of also over the last two years or so from teaser to release has been tops 4 months

Precisely.

My guess would be next week for Spidey and mid December for Superman (preorder dates) After that i'd bet we'll see both ship in April.

The first Iron Man Mark III took something like seven months from pre-orders to release in Hong Kong, and over nine months from pre-order to when Sideshow actually shipped the thing stateside.

As much as Spiderman will be more complex than a standard figure like the T-1000, it'll still be simpler than an a heavily engineered figure like Iron Man. I'm sure there were breakages and things encountered with Iron Man. Spiderman will be tricky and/or slow to put together, but it's not a complex construction.

Seem to recall the DX Bats took a bit too. I po'd it in like June '09, and BBTS got it out around May '10. Granted, BBTS gets all their stuff almost last compared to other places, but only by a few months.

That's a different scenario, BBTS was stocked by DC Direct who got their TDK stock months after HK sellers. Joker was out in November 2009 in the HK.

Are those pictures of the toy itself? I can't tell.

Yes, they're blurred out shots taken by Tommy Richardson. There's usually blurred shots of his put out to tease people before official images pop up.

Oh sweet, pictures must be out tomorrow then.
I'm really excited for it. I'll buy this and possibly a Green Goblin if they make one.
And if they can make a REALLY good Venom, well hell, I might just get him too then. Even though Venom was horrible in Spider-Man 3.

Looks good except for the hands and boots, look way too plastic :( I was really hoping they would go another route for the hands...

Very cool. The little building corner for him to perch on is a nice touch.

Yes on the hands and boots, although glad to see the neck connects to the chest and is one piece. Not a fan of that seam on the top of his head though. Also, they don't show the back at all, large zipper/seam? Arms seem a little too buff for my liking too, more than Tobey for sure. Pretty amazing other than that.
