The modified mask looks a lot more accurate with the jaw shape
The default hot toy is too round kind of similar to how Tom Holland mask is shaped

Looks too wide and chunky to me but I guess it depends on the reference you draw from. It still needs some sort of round curve as it leads down to the chin.

This is almost too blocky and square. An in-between with this and stock would probably be the happy medium.

Either way, a lens swap on all these customizations is what's missing the most. That flat stock lens looks terrible no matter what's done around it. It has zero depth.

Yes i agree what Hologram says, new lenses is what we need. Im not going to order this Spiderman until i see someone with custom lenses which i can order. But if its too expensive, im just gonna pass this tobey spidey and hoping for a new one in a few years. :)

All this customizing talk has me so tempted to modify my tasm2 spidey.
(I am not a customizer)
If I knew how to sew then I would definitely go for it.

Nah I think the company just is so deep in Disney crap that they given more money to produce Disney stuff compared to things not made by Disney. However spiderman merch is Disney owned so I don’t get them always doing Hollander so well when Tobey and Andrew have more praise then he does as Spider-Man
Can I join the hate train? I also hates how HT focuses on Disney so much. Yeah, ok it sells like hot cakes, but would it kill them to also make figures for some other licenses every now and then?

As much as I would like to see this as well, at the end of the day HT is a business geared toward making money. If I was running it, I'd make whatever did the most to move the bottom line. We can argue that the stuff they make sometimes isn't that, but assuming there's some directive from Disney driving some of those decisions, it ultimately works to help HT make money. The emergence of 3rd party companies that provide ever improving products has helped with my Disney fatigue some. Mars Toys and the 1966 Batman series rogues is a prime example of that...

I really wanted to like this one and honestly don't mind most of its flaws, but that forehead seam is impossible to ignore, killed the figure for me.

I'll most likely be displaying this unmasked most of the time (as I usually do), so while annoying, I'll still be getting this.

True, can't argue with that. Money talks. But regardless, if I see another Iron Man variant I'm going to torch my car.

I guess what we need is competition - companies who can produce at (or above) Hot Toys' level but focusing on other IP that is f***ing Disney.

Yeah, that last What If? Iron Man monstrosity they showed was an all-time head scratcher... You might want to spare your car though, as another Iron Man is as sure a thing as I can imagine :)

Dont disagree about Disney being their bread n butter but I think it’s more about people not getting licenses from IP they like versus HT lack of Disney offerings.

Other IPs unreleased
-DC
-John Wick
-Predator
-One Piece
-Kaman Rider
-League of Legends
-Avatar
-Warriors of the Future
-Spiderman Universe (stretch but technicall)

My thing is don’t announce it if you aren’t going to make it and don’t show it if you aren’t going to make it. Batman returns, the first Shazam, green lantern, a slew of mcu villains , the list goes on. Got sick of it. Iron man 3 days were torture. That’s all they put out and they neglected everything. They pretty much buy the license to sit on it. Give it to someone who will actually make the figures. Glad that new company is giving them a bit of competition tbh. They need it

Sideshow have pushed my last payment until 03/05/2024

I purchased mine from Replay Toys and they said they'd get their shipment in March. I don't quite understand why there's such a long amount of time between seeing it released in Hong Kong and then receiving it months later. I understand there's shipping involved but still.

gonna assume sideshow never got the "first batch" since once it released in HK, sideshow sent out a delay email like 24 hrs later lmao
so just hoping every one that ordered from sideshow is getting the fixed masked

Can only assume it’s the fixed mask version they’re getting.
