So I'm already going to be biting a hard bullet with the 2-pack.

I really want that short Stormtrooper. I actually might get the set just to get that one.

Precisely why I'm getting the 2-pack. If both troopers were the same I'd either get only one or maybe, two singles (each with a discount).

while I enjoy all the reverse psychology, we all know from collecting 3.75 and from our imaginations, in a perfect empire world stormies are all the same size. It's just the way you envision it. Stormies kick in the door and they come flowing in... and no there isn't a little short guy tailing the group. Something is weird about a small stormtrooper. I think I'll save that position for when the Luke version drops so it makes more sense. No I don't care for the Clone thoughts behind perfect troopers, in fact I care completely zero about everything outside the original trilogy. Though I have hopes for the coming movies. So while these are still human troopers... I still prefer a set of 4 stormies all the same height.

Id love to see how these scale next to the original sideshow Stormtroopers. For me it would be nice if the older SSC ones were slightly smaller than the upcoming HT's so there's some variation. And hopefully the Hot Toys might scale better to giant Vader.

My SS Vader isn't big enough, that's always been the problem with that figure. I'll take two minis to flank Vader so he can really tower over these guys. All about the Vader presence

It has to be 5. 3 of one, two of the other. Doesn't matter which is which. Everyone who's watched the movies knows there were mostly short troopers (Luke's height) and Han was just extremely lucky to find one with armor to fit him.

So two 2 packs & a single. A grand plus shipping.

They were both pretty lucky those armors fit. Hell I don't even know how they got changed into them so fast.

I understand the gist of what you're saying, but that's just the idealized image. Which is perfectly fine, but No, in my perfect Empire, Stormtroopers are human recruits who vary in height. They have names, histories, lives, and an unwavering loyalty to the Empire out of fear, necessity, patriotism, discipline, or a combination thereof.

One of my favorite short stories was in the Star Wars Tales comics. It was about the life of the Stormtrooper that gets shot and killed by Leia on the Tantive IV. How he came to be recruited, how he was trained to be a Stormtrooper. Yeah, maybe I'm in the minority, but the so called faceless troopers and pilots of the Empire have always captivated me far more than the names characters ever have.

So I like having Stormtroopers that are different heights. It feels more real to me; gives them character. Plus the short Stormtrooper isn't that short, and everyone has the option not to buy him. I for one will get a pair of two packs and happily display them all together.
