I'm on it too but It's not at all worth it, just waiting for a coupon to order the regular and then I'll cancel the EX.

I think I'll use this months for the regular if that's the case. I can always buy the part out if I really want it but I doubt it.

Looking at how these figures hang so well together I feel like I'm selling myself short by getting just the one. I never felt that way about the SS version. Might have to sell it off for whatever its going for nowadays to pick up a second HT version.

That's the spirit, uncle Howard needs a new car.

I will chip in by buying a two-pack as soon as my credit card bill cut-off date comes. :lol

A bunch of these will be so much better than only one. You might buy a few HT replacements for the worst parts on the SSC and put it on a new body? But that might not work out that much cheaper in the end.
There were plenty of people here that pledged their allegiance to the SSC Stormtrooper before so should be a pretty easy sell for the right price.

I'm in the only one camp. I like ST'ers, but not army obsessed. Plus i see myself putting the Han and Luke heads on it for displaying from time to time.

(so maybe two max but i doubt it) Plus there's that inevitable EP7 version.:)

I feel as if HT is bound to make Han & Luke Stormtroopers so not sure the mod is worth doing...one thing I would consider is getting a parted out helmet for a "no-stripes" variant; but the ones I've seen are priced high.

I traded my trooper pair for Beto Freddy Krueger......:yess:

I'll be the only one but I wasn't impressed with HT Storm Troopers. The armor and body fit nice n snug but in natural light they looked very plastic. I am not judging on overall likeness simply how they looked on my shelf. Beyond being blind of course, I came to the conclusion it was the armor color. I have the Shadow Trooper and I like the looks of it....same figure just different color :dunno

Had a little time to review what I have and think about the collection (such as it is) today. The HT Stormtroopers come with a side-effect: satisfaction. My original plan was to have a minimal representation from each OT film, with Stormtroopers, Probe Droid and Scout + Bike for each instalment, any extra figures here or there being more or less non-essential.

I'm kinda doubting now whether to bother with the Scout and Speeder...more so than the money (I'd only have to buy it once) I'm concerned about space, and I'm not 100% convinced that SSC is going to meet my standards on that Scout Trooper...I probably won't like the body, and wonder if the weathering will be too heavy-handed. I already know the helmet is slightly off.

The set as a whole looks pretty phenomenal as of now in spite of these shortcomings I anticipate, but I'm going to take a wait-and-see attitude. Between the gang of Stormies and that sinister 'bot floating around, I may actually have my 1/6 Star Wars needs covered.

These things really are that good. They just nail the look and feel of OT Star Wars for me. Especially the short one.

To each their own, of course.

To be fair, the original props/costumes are plastic. :lol

I know the helmets were painted HDPE but I'm not sure about the armour...probably unpainted. Some of my nerd lore is forgotten.

Well, that's a good trade, at least. I love Beto's stuff.

A classic character for classic character, I am excited.

To each their own, of course.

My opinion is minority of course with most SW fans thinking WTF.....I'll still pick up single version later on but looking forward to the enevitable Sand Troopers.....maybe with a bit of dust and grime I'll enjoy them.

Sonnofa... That just gave me the little push I needed to cancel the two Scouts I had on pre-order (in addition to the Scout/Bike set). Since I've never cancelled before, SSC was kind enough to move the $38.00 from that order to my Stormtroopers set. I'm debating also cancelling the Scout/Bike set, but will give it some time since I paid a $30.00 NRD on it. I am thinking of letting it go, all the same, though, for the reasons you mentioned. Price also plays a role. When I did the math, it came to about an eye-watering $1200.00 CAD for 3 Scouts and the Bike, factoring in shipping, taxes, customs and the 20% devaluation on our dollar. Wondering if it's not something I'd be better off appreciating in other collections, especially since I have 2 Snowtroopers, an E-Web, plus 4 Stormtroopers on the way. Seems maybe like Imperial overkill on display.

Star Wars is such an overwhelming license, overkill is easy if you're not careful. I know some people love big or complete collections but that's not my thing, so examining it through that lens...

I've owned Medicom, Sideshow...Marmits customized to hell and back with love...these HT Stormtroopers are the best I've ever had. Just before these hit I let go my modded Snowtroopers and even my Marmit Sandtroopers. Zero regrets on all counts.

When something hits that sweet spot for quality, accuracy and fun the way these do...it really puts everything into perspective. I like stormtroopers better than Scout Troopers and ROTJ was my least favourite film...factor in doubts about SSC and space/style concerns, and it gets iffy.

And even though I said I "only have to buy it once" the prices do add up...

I'm not going to say absolutely not, but ... maybe not. Especially because HT is going to release other stuff I want like Han & Luke in trooper disguise (don't know when but I don't think they'll miss that opportunity) and maybe a sandtrooper...

I still judge every release on its own merits and think Hot Toys has their share of misses and screw-ups, but these stormtroopers are as good as it gets.

Mine may not be available until late March....but it does look like I am in the first batch!!!!

All single releases....no short troopers...

Yeah but i don't need to get those when i can just pop a head on from time to time. (this license has me worried enough $ wise, i don't need variants lol)

I must have TK-421's belt with the grappling hook. As stolen by Luke.
