I must have TK-421's belt with the grappling hook. As stolen by Luke.

Great point. Are the belts easily removable? Don't know that I need the Luke unless the head is fantastic, but would love to make shortie even more unique.

Belts are super-easy to remove. I thought about that, but unless the Luke and Han heads we speculate are coming completely suck, I'd be in for the set. I imagine they should come with a set of binders....exclusive maybe??

Short Stormtrooper.
I'm getting one.

With every new figure, it takes a few days for me to be happy with the pose and my customisation. Turns out theres a lot of futzing to do with the storm trooper armour pieces. They are also very white! This distracts from the other pieces, like the black Vader (which is my center piece), because the eye is drawn to the big white patches. Weathering, like on the Tantive stormtroopers helps. Finding a pose that clicks with me also takes time. It can be subtle.

I know some of you will be offended that I weathered the stormtrooper, but with the weathered C3PO, R2D2, Luke and Boba Fett, these white plastic stormtroopers just looked toy-like

That totally looks 1:1.
You've really taken it to the next level.:clap

Best pics I have seen so far. Weathering looks perfect.:clap

These are the first pics where I can truly say the helmets look better than the Marmit; and look like a still from the movie. Made me think of the 12-back card art:

Did you yellow the whites as well? It's maybe a little too excessive in places, but making them look "lived in" works fine for me and I'm firmly in the white unweathered (in the usual sense, and naturally not if they're Sandtroopers) camp. :clap

The helmets are good, a little too big perhaps at the very front but so much of it is just so good. The Marmit helmets are just a tad smaller than the HT, but they just look so good even though they too have some issues.

I only have the Shadow Trooper so haven't had a white one in my hands yet but comparing the details of the black one to the Marmit and how similar they are I love the old Marmits even more than before if that is even possible. :)

Thank you! And the comparison works even better after correcting for color difference. And I like the Hot Toys helmet better without the distorted right eye!

So, no, I didn't yellow up the whites, that's a product of the warm Dioder lights.

Yeah...in addition to raising and lowering some parts, on a couple of mine I've loosened the ab armour and belt, and even inserted foam to subtly change the angles on the chest and ab armour plates. The armour almost fits too well out of the box.

I like your Tantive IV weathering; not likely I'll do it to any of mine as I like the graphic pop from the bright white, but my display and vibe is different from yours.

Preaching to the choir! :duff

I think it totally works and you've done it well!

I didn't keep my Marmits but I spent a long time staring down those helmets; I think in terms of screen accuracy the slight asymmetry of the Marmits beats HT; the HT sculpt is a little sharper and of course the material, paint and finish is an order of magnitude better as expected. Where both helmets fail the screen accuracy test is the very slight elongation of the "snout". The lower face plates on the actual helmets were generally much flatter than any scaled representation we've had.

The only real 1/6 competition the HT helmets have IMO is the Marmit Sandtrooper Squad leader. That helmet is noticeably different and one of the best if not the best proportioned I've ever seen, although to add to the mix, as I've mentioned before there was sometimes significant variation in both size and proportions between each Marmit sample.

But if you'll allow me to beat this dead horse for a moment... :horse

The Hot Toys Stormtrooper is my favourite iteration of this character overall from any company. :stormtroo :rock :stormtroo

I'm sorry but that is not true. Cannot wait to get my HT Stormtroopers, but they don't have the helmet sculpt as good as the old Marmit. The HT helmet still suffers a bit from the big jaw SSC Stormtroopers had, not as pronounced but still there. Quite visible in this pic as well, look between frown and vocorder. This goes then to the lateral tubes too. Marmit and GG mini-bust don't have this oversized part. HT is a cool helmet though.

I know yours are slightly tweaked but these are damn near perfect Stormtrooper figures! :panic:

Screw it, forget getting one. Preordered the two-pack.

I have to disagree. These look way better than my Marmit. I guess it may just be personal opinion.
