I have to disagree. These look way better than my Marmit. I guess it may just be personal opinion.

If you talk about your own personal opinion then it is fine by me. But the Marmit helmet sculpts are still better than the HT lids in any pics I've seen so far, they capture the essence of the true Stormtrooper helmet without being truly wonky, asymmetrical and rough. HT TK helmet is an improvement over SSC, but not over Marmit or Gentle Giant mini-bust. And I'm quite moderate compared to the true helmet experts who can show you all the wrong details. For me HT did a good job, they could have done better, but is ok. Again, not talking about sharpness or materials used, just sculpt itself.

My Marmits for comparison, Jazzincs pictures look incredible and makes it easy for me to decide picking up the Hot Toys Stormtrooper when its officially released.

Great pics from everyone so far. It's great when releases are good enough to get universal praise. No let downs, no disappointments, nothing to b__ch about. I wish they all could be HT Stormies

Exactly. The set comes with large trooper, short trooper, rifle and mouse droid. The exclusive set comes with all that and a gun rack.

It's more the fact the the light doesn't bounce off of it as much as the HT troopers

Thank you sirs.

Hmmmm. I'm usually a sucker for EX items but this is one of the rare times that I don't think it's necessary. The rack is no biggie. Plus I planned on 2-3 2 packs, and could get a good deal for the regulars from a local shop.

I hope this doesnt get a too early release over here. To many other priorities this spring. Was counting on this dropping in time for my birthday...

I didn't keep my Marmits but I spent a long time staring down those helmets; I think in terms of screen accuracy the slight asymmetry of the Marmits beats HT; the HT sculpt is a little sharper and of course the material, paint and finish is an order of magnitude better as expected. Where both helmets fail the screen accuracy test is the very slight elongation of the "snout". The lower face plates on the actual helmets were generally much flatter than any scaled representation we've had.

The only real 1/6 competition the HT helmets have IMO is the Marmit Sandtrooper Squad leader. That helmet is noticeably different and one of the best if not the best proportioned I've ever seen, although to add to the mix, as I've mentioned before there was sometimes significant variation in both size and proportions between each Marmit sample.

But if you'll allow me to beat this dead horse for a moment... :horse

The Hot Toys Stormtrooper is my favourite iteration of this character overall from any company. :stormtroo :rock :stormtroo

The only Marmit I have is the Squad leader and I cast that helmet to make my custom stormie. That sandie is such a terrific piece. All I did was add all the Sideshow guns to him (the two long guns) and he's as good as you'll get. That helmet cast still worked very nicely for my custom stormie and he's perfect until I get my HT stormie (if SSC ever gets them...:lol)

I'm sorry but that is not true. Cannot wait to get my HT Stormtroopers, but they don't have the helmet sculpt as good as the old Marmit. The HT helmet still suffers a bit from the big jaw SSC Stormtroopers had, not as pronounced but still there. Quite visible in this pic as well, look between frown and vocorder. This goes then to the lateral tubes too. Marmit and GG mini-bust don't have this oversized part. HT is a cool helmet though.

Oh, I'm with you on that. In the early pics, I was stunned how similar the HT and SSC helmets looked side-by-side. What I meant is that those pics with the weathering just to me nailed an ESB stormie. They literally look like set photos. The gloss and the weathering helped. Though maybe the angle of the pics subtly diminishes the chin sculpt issue.

With these guys shipping early what are the odds that there will be any stock left for this years' Spooktacular?
