That makes him look like he's tired and has bags under his eyes after a long shift on the Death Star.

The helmet GG made was scanned from a real 1:1 one.

BTW something cool:

The other problem with trying to use a GG mini-bust helmet is that most of those are closer to 1/7 scale.

Looks like all these drunk troopers are also left-handed - like many of the ones in other scenes.

I'm going to have to make some new holsters, because I won't be displaying any bloody left-handed troopers on these shelves.

Leftist!

The scene may have been filmed one way then flipped, or they may have been asked to hold their guns like that by Lucas.

"...most of the Stormtroopers are left-handed. That is because of how the weapons are constructed. Their weapons are based on a real weapon, essentially the Sterling L2A3 9mm SMG (sub-machine gun) a military weapon developed in the late 1940s in the UK and adopted by the British and Canadian Armies in the 1950s. The magazine is on the left-hand side of the stormtroopers weapons. This construction caused it to hit the stormtroopers in the chest. Therefore they have to switch grip of the weapon, which made them look like left handed stormtroopers. The curved left entry side mounted magazine was removed and replaced with a much smaller version, and that was as much as it was modified for the film."

Left-Handed Stormtroopers - are stormtroopers left handed ?

Or there's the clone-angle, but this sounds like more Lucas retrofitting babble.

You mean the helmet is slightly too small compared to the body of the bust?

Exactly. The GG mini-busts are 1:6 but the helmet of this particular bust is a tad smaller.

I own a real converted Sterling, even with the cut-off magazine you will easily hit your armor and crack it. Solid metal against thin ABS plastic has only one result = change the way how TK's hold their E-11

I never understood the true definition of NITPICKING till I looked in this thread :lol

See HT vader Thread gives you definition about nitpicking

We are not talking here about $10 Hasbro figures, but about expensive 1:6 (or larger) collectibles. When companies like Gentle Giant, Marmit and even Kotobukiya managed to make more accurate Stormtroopers and Vader (and others) so long ago, we still think SSC and even HT can do better. I understand some people are easily satisfied with anything SSC or HT are releasing, but we all know they can do better in so many cases. In the end "nitpicking" goes in many domains, I'm quite sure if you get a (new or classic) car and it has some potential issues, you'd nitpick it to death, just to give an easier to understand example.

Yeah, the left handed hold must have been such a headache during filming (lots of righties having to shoot leftie.) It was only in ESB that they even started to put the holsters on the right side, and some stormies with right handed holds.

Left handed people are supposed to have their brains wired slightly differently - and have that in common with most ANH stormies.:lol

There's pointing out some things, and then there's nitpicking to a degree that ones enjoyment of said "doll" is nullified. I mean if you can't enjoy a doll because a line is off here, or a lens is slighter off color, or it's height is .00000003cm off, maybe it's time to look at other avenues for your OCD. (but some people love their OCD):)

That said i think the OCD nitpickers are a minority.

This topic comes up often. Why do you give any thought whatsoever as to how I feel about stuff?

FYI I'm pretty happy about these, so you should be too I guess. :lol

The moment the word(s) doll appeared in your post, it became nullified :lol

"And these blast points, too accurate for Sandpeople. Only left-handed Imperial stormtroopers are so precise."

:lecture

Ha, Sand people must be really lousy with firearms because nobody will be confusing stormtroopers with Chris Kyle anytime soon.
