From the leaked spy photos a couple of sites had then yes, unless there are details you can't see but as it's supposed to be right before ANH then it's a good bet they will appear.

[...]These are great figures, but I do wish the helmet matched more closely the look of the helmet you see most of the time in ANH. It seems like they went for the "hero" look not the stunt, but to me it doesn't really capture ANH stormies that well - it looks noticeably different.

Also, a few armor pieces seem a little off. The thigh armor looks too short when compared to most screen grabs - maybe the hero outfit was different?

Stunning, awesome figures, but off like every stormtrooper figure ever. ;)

As far as I recall, no differences for armours beyond the way different pieces may have been trimmed or fitted on individual suits, you can see variations in the films but there was no 'stunt' or 'hero' per se.

I'm actually wondering if the weathering can be removed from the upcoming Hot Toys sandtrooper. The raised brow and extended frown in prototype shots looks closer to the stunt version than their Hero version looks to its screen used counterpart...although proportions on the tubes are still off.

I actually measured the Marmit and Hot Toys helmets with a digital Vernier gauge...they're so close it's ridiculous, but the Marmit is still a touch closer to the real thing.

There are three primary issues on Hot Toys (this is psychotic nitpicking, guys...these are still great figures) .... the lateral tubes are too bulky, the divot on either side of the nasal bridge isn't quite pronounced enough, ridges around eye lenses too soft, and the "face plate" (area between the eyes and "mouth") could be a touch wider; it's also narrowed by the bulk of those tubes.

It is kind of funny that it seems like the Empire regularly totally redesigns their troopers' armor. Keeping up with the current fashions I guess.:lol

Just setting up my second HT stormie. These are great figures, but I do wish the helmet matched more closely the look of the helmet you see most of the time in ANH. Maybe they went for the "hero" look not the stunt, but to me it doesn't really capture ANH stormies that well.

Also, a few armor pieces seem a little off. The thigh armor looks too short (esp the one on the left above the bumpy knee part) when compared to most screen grabs - maybe the hero outfit was different?

Trooper on the right....shin armor crooked, shoe leather all bunched up. I'd send back for a replacement. :monkey1

Great analysis (and yes, I'm aware of the other word contained in "analysis" when it comes to this stuff):lol

I'm posting some pics of my HT stormies soon and I have my custom in there with the Marmit Sandie cast as helmet.

The HT Sandie looks incredible but the Marmit sandie just looks spot-on.

If you look carefully enough, you'll find these guys are as off as Sideshow's troopers. They look good overall, but they have a lot of accuracy issues - details and proportions.

It's funny - I was trying to figure out if HT used the SSC helmet somehow. It looks similar.

The HT stormie is a massive improvement in terms of body, armor and posability. It feels so solid.

Yeah, I chose that pic because of that shin armor. On the dented helmet site, it's amazing how many errors people have found in the stormies..

I remember your Marmit cast/custom well; it looks amazing. I'm using Marmit parts for a kit bash that will take me until Episode VIII to complete. Like I was telling Wor, I have time to hop on and off these boards but sitting down and working on customs is another story.

Actually, I'm going to set some armour and peroxide out in the sun now while I have the chance.

So. Nerdy.

Don't even get me started on the armour inaccuracies. And I'm not as knowledgeable as the Dented Helmet group. Those guys are Stone Cold Thugs.

Like the very common rear splits on the shin armor? Just can't unsee that anymore in so many scenes.

Missing "grill" stickers and weird tape all over the place.

Yeah, my Marmit sandie is just the slightest bit yellowed but even next to the HT stormie (who is the whitest guy in the room) it isn't that noticeable and almost seems to be part of the weathering.

I'll probably do the peroxide thing one day then redo the weathering. That's one thing on the Marmit sandie that isn't great at all. Looks like someone lightly dabbed a soiled diaper here and there then gave up.:lol

If I continue with my plan to use Marmit and Hot Toys parts, I have a choice to make...either match the Hot Toys paint, which is tough...or re-paint the Hot Toys armour along with the Marmit parts.

I got the colour almost identical on my first run with a Marmit helmet, but I wasn't satisfied with the gloss finish. It may be the safer option to repaint the Hot Toys stuff because I can start from primer on both and match everything perfectly.

We'll see, this is obviously a long-term project. I anticipate good results eventually, as the several Marmits I've customized in the past were all learning curve.

Re: Rogue One...yeah...it looked like some Sandtrooper armour parts; the helmets looked like stunts albeit symmetrical.

I believe we'll see Rogue One troopers from Hot Toys, but that's probably...what, two years away? Before that we could conceivable see a stormtrooper variant of some kind and we're not done with Sandies.

Maybe there'll be an armor change part way through Rogue One and they'll blame it for the trooper's inability to hit anything in the OT. Nice way to wrap everything together. ;)

If i`d ask SS what nr I am in the waitlist for an item, would I get an answer on where I am in the line? I ask you freaks because I may get an answer on if I should bother to ask faster.

Inspired by Talibane, began test fitting some parts. No paint, trimming or sanding yet; some accessories missing. Rogue One style knee plate. ;)

- Hot Toys hands, chest, shoulder bells, boots, mic tips.

- Sideshow blaster.

- Everything else Marmit.

- S2.5 body with HT arms.
