Seriously though, Emma was such a weird character, but hard to dislike.

It always amazes me how Australia is seen by other countries- especially by the US, who we tend to have the strongest affinity for.

All my preorders are with Popcultcha now- their service has been perfect for me so far.

I'm a fan of Australia, and Australians based on the handful I've met in the real world and encountered here. I would love to visit there one day.

Be careful. Everything here will kill you mate.

Me too. I want to see a platypus in the wild.

Even our mammals, like the cute platypus, have spurs to inject poison.

I use popcultcha a fair bit. They are great and they have a pretty good reward system. But be careful you don't get a box full of redbacks. Sometimes happens after a spider storm.

I remember lots of people swearing up and down that hot toys would produce these for years and that they would wait for a discount. Wonder how many of them are still waiting.

I was one of those who thought HT would have a ton of these made and remaining..either HT limited production or these sold like hotcakes..hmmmm

With some people buying 20-50 at a time, I suspect these sold pretty well with high volume production.

I don't remember if I personally speculated or not. But simple logic says that to keep these available over a longer time would benefit everybody except the scalpers. Every person starting up with 1/6 Star Wars will want at least a couple. The rest of us will want more and over a couple of years many more people would find themselves in canadaclone territory than now, since the added scalper-fee will make it less likely. Make a couple of thousand or any applicable round number every year and they will sell out every time no problem.

Before getting too baffled by HT's reasoning here, it might help to take a look at their previous practices--just about every time something popular was released by Hot Toys, it got released again. Frequently as an updated, and improved edition. Batmen, Ledger Jokers, Predators, T2 Arnold and of course, Iron Men being the primary targets here.

HT doesn't seem to be in a huge rush here, given that they haven't announced any Empire-specific figures since getting the new license, and only one Jedi figure I believe in Boba Fett. So, in a year or so from now, they can release Episode 8/Rogue Squadron/whatever and Empire figures, and at that time we will most likely get more Stormies with whatever minor changes included that were made in that film. We might even get more recolored versions and other wacky variants. Then, a couple years later, Jedi versions. A couple years after that, more ep. 4 versions with some improved technology, maybe sound chips or spring loaded missiles, DX googly eyes maybe for the Django sculpt they may put under the helmet, slightly redesigned armor and helmets that make the older versions quaint and obsolete in the eyes of some, etc. etc.

We'll get more Stormtroopers. Hot Toys ain't one to leave a cash cow unmilked.

simple logic says

Since when has simple logic ever ruled the world?

But you are right in that they could have sold more over a longer period of time. Anyone paying attention though should realize both hot toys and sideshow seem to be trying to minimize overproduction especially compared to the last couple years. Chewie/han, speeder bike, scout trooper, stormtrooper, taun taun, etc are just the most recent examples. I'm not saying I know everything, but I made sure to get all the stormtroopers I wanted before they vanished just in case.

Karamazov is probably right. They almost definitely will make other versions, I just strongly prefer the ANH look.

I had to pass on these too..even though they look great! I will probably regret it but I still am trying to figure out how to modify my medicom and get some more mileage out of that.
I too am hoping they will make more, however, these first releases are going to probably be the best price - you know if they release some in a year or two that dreaded price hike!

I didn't even know the Stormies changed looks from film to film. HT plate is busting full - I don't think they'll do another ANH Stormie for a few years. This two pack is special even if they do- two height sizes and accessories.

Speaking of Trooper variants, what was with the guy who said "She'll be all right, inform Lord Vader we have a prisoner." He doesn't have any of those blue stripes on the sides of his helmet. Was the extra just wearing an unfinished helmet or was that supposed to designate him as a squad leader or something?
