Rubio95,

I'm digging the inspection ready look- nice!

brentce

There's two reasons....

1. I'm thinking Hot Toys will inevitably release a Sandtrooper, and

2. My balls are nowhere near as big as yours to perform that kind of surgery that you did. Bravo (though more pics would be appreciated)!

Was thinking about the wax treatment on this guy, he's so clean may as well go for the spit and polish look. Either that or the some subtle weathering as someone else has done

Hi Rubio,

Here are a couple more shots. I really need to learn how to take decent pic's.

I have to admit, the Hot Toys troopers look fantastic. I'm on the fence about getting a set , I have several Sideshow troopers. I think I can live with them. Is anyone else on the fence about these only because you already have the Sideshow ones?

Sell those while you can. 6 months ago you could have sold them at $250 and bought these and make a profit. Now not so much.

Variety is the spice of life. :D
I've got Sideshows, Marmits, and HT.

Nice! How did you do the light up base?

I removed the grill piece from the base then pulled the dark grey sheet from under the grill. I used that as a template to cut a new sheet from very thin styrene sheet. The lights are changable LED strip lights. To prevent light bleed-through, I had to paint the inside of the base and grill flat black.

I would suggest painting the inside white or chrome to have the light bounce better and maybe a thin layer of matte paint on one side of the styrene sheet to get a more even light diffuse. Just my 2 cents if I were to try it.

But as is, its a very great mod, great job! I kinda want to try it now :lol

Thanks for sharing! I might just give it a try.
