I wonder how many of those critics and others who are savaging Sucker Punch walked into the cinema expecting anything other than a Zac Snyder film?

Thats a very good point, and very true. But this is way below anything anyone has come to expect from Snyder. This is an 80's cheesy pop promo pumped up with steroids. Which sounds a lot more fun than it is.

Seriously, folk at my screening started cursing and walking out!

Just saw SP this afternoon, and was not disappointed. I went expecting hot chicks with swords/guns kicking ass, and that's exactly what I got. Who the hell was expecting this to be Gone With The Wind? It was never advertised as more than a fun sexy action flick, and that's what it is. Yes, I loved There Will Be Blood, and Black Swan. I was moved by The Kids Are Alright, and thought Gran Turino was moving. But, you know, sometimes I just want two hours of ass-kickery by saucy girls in lingerie. Sue me.

Check this flick out.

Me too......my fav movie of the year was A Winters Bone.I dont see how people feel tricked after seeing this. I mean the trailer and the actual movie go hand in hand.What you see in the trailer is exactly what you get in the movie.I cant wait for the Blu!!

Well if you're comparing Snyder with Snyder and you still don't think it measures up... maybe it is that bad

Not being a big Snyder fan to begin with, I'll wait for bluray.

thats true a couple people walked out when I saw it aswell.

i am not going to lie I actually went to see it for the action. was hoping for a better story, i guess i let the reviews set me up for disappointment and went in knowing it was going to be bad. not bashing the movie either but wasnt great either.

Anyone remember The Spirit? HT made three figures from that trash. This film looks like it'll be way better than that and even if it tanks hard, it's hot chicks in skimpy clothing with guns and swords. The figures sell themselves even if the film is horrid.

I guarantee you'll get Baby Doll in the initial. I am predicting Sweet Pea along with her.

Amber is 50/50 but I would say that Rocket and Blondie have a huge longshot of being made. I don't think at best they'll go beyond three.

Have you seen it yet? I wasn't so taken with her at first, but the more art I saw, the more I came to the same consclusion as you have.

They've already announced it. It's coming, how much is now the question based on how the film does. Remember this is an Asian company producing figures worldwide but they are focused on their own backyard. Let's assume that this film takes off in the Asian markets and really explodes despite not doing that here, then you'll see them go all in.

Regardless of what is on-screen you can't deny that on a shelf filled with Iron Mans, Predators, and action icons, a Baby Doll with stylized pistol and katana sword would look pretty damn awesome.

Nope, I can't. I was just thinking that if these were done as well as can be expected from Hot Toys, there is going to be a market for them. The designs, while not completely original, are a high point when it comes to presenting what have become classic icons.

Baby Doll is a samurai-gunslinger school girl, Sweet Pea is a Templar knight-monk with machine guns, Blondie is a Indian warrior-princess, Amber is a lollipop sucking pilot, Rocket is a punk rock nurse, and they're each head to toe in black. It adds up to a nerd fantasy pantheon epitomized with vintage American pathos (and America is really just a cauldron of everything the rest of the world has always been).

How it couldn't be a successful action figure line when it rides on the wake of a movie tailored to the greater mass (read, not the snobbiest layer) of collector geeks? I mean no disrespect to those who consider their tastes to be above this film, but I've never known them to be the prime movers of any franchise.

I think Babydoll and Amber are a given due to the fact that those are the posters they had up at their Anniversay Expo. But after seeing the film last night, the least one I'd want is Amber. I do though hope for a Rocket and Blondie. And unless HT can sculpt the hair for Babydoll like GG did for their 1/4 scale, I'd like rooted hair for her.

Saw it at the IMAX last nite with a bunch of friends. Loved It. This was a very fun movie. I liked the effects, characters, story was cool and the music had my feet tapping. Perfect movie to kick back with a Soda and Popcorn!

Now...I want Suckerpunch collectibles. I looked around in this thread but didnt see any pics of HT being done yet. Are there anypics floating around, if not im def ordering the GG statues soon.
